Research potion vs hammer is maths: - a research potion costs 20 emblems and takes 23hrs out of research - a hammer costs 120 emblems and makes research instant. -> a research potion costs 1/6 of a hammer. 6x23hrs= 138hrs = 5d18hrs. Potions are a more efficient way to boosts research shorter than 5d18hrs; for research longer than that hammers are more cost-effective. And that's before taking into account that hammer also provide the elixir/DE; the value of that depends on how full your reserves are.

No idea if you'll see this comment months later, I just reinstalled clash of clans after leaving as almost a maxed town hall 9 5 years ago. I always played free to play and I've never bought gems. This video was very helpful as they game has changed immensely. I had no idea what these do, what league medals are, and even that you can tap the builder now to see recommended upgrades remaining. Didn't even know there was a base builder!!! All these new things brought life into the game that wasn't there 5 years ago, I am loving it! Decided to buy the gold pass for 5 dollars, but still refuse to buy gems. Had no idea someone would make a series like this on youtube, I appreciate the time and dedication it takes to make this kind of series as I have done it the entire time through my clash of clans journey as well. Keep up the good work man!

Jo...please give me a suggestion....i have a th10 max base except king(lvl 14) and about 25 lvl 11 walls and rest are lvl 10 and lvl 9.......i dont have anything left in lab except dark spells.....so should i buy wall rings and hammer of heroes only...or should i store cwl medals and use a lot of them in the start of th11..?????? Please reply

What are your thoughts on builder potions? I have 6 builder plugging away and my thought was to spend this war league rewards on builder potions instead of a hammer. I can buy 5 potions forna total of 50 hours but with 6 builders that's actually 300 hours in reduction. I'm TH12 and only have a 15 buildings to go to max defenses. My longest build is mortar at 9 days. I feel like I'll get more bang for the medal doing potions. Thanks for your tips.

Nah, buy hammer of building instead and wait for th to upgrade to th 13, then use it for cc or research building. Save book of building of clan games to do both. This way is more effective because you can get benefits of boost.

I understand your point Jo. I used to attack in Clan War using gobolaloon. Without my queen. I like to use 1 baby drag to kill cc with max poison. It's work. Baby drag is the best kill squad to kill cc def. But must combo with proper lvl of poison. Low poison will make baby drag die easily. And thanks for showing new army for clan war Jo. Keep it up.

Hey Jo! Great videos keep up the great work! Just wanted to point out that lab potions work best with upgrades that take 6 days or less. Using 120 medals for lab potions. An upgrade that takes 7 days or more it is better to use the hammer. A little in depth of what you said in the video. Love your content!

I’m surprised he hated on the training potion. For a rushed th12 in crystal league, you can farm up 15-20 million gold and 15-20 million elixir in an hour if you use super gobs and wall breakers. It’s one of the main ways I have been leveling up my bases.

I just came to th10 like 15 days ago. And I first upgrade dark elixir troops while upgrading the building using elixir and gold. And use hammer for upgrading queen. And after elixir building are done I upgrade elixir troops and use dark elixir for heroes upgrade.

Jo i agree the wall rings and the potions u said you should not buy but the loot if you are doing wall grind then i would buy the gold and elixer so i disagree for that but you should also farm too when you wall grind and always farm

Hammer of fighting/spells is better for researches over 6 days. Anything less than that, 6 research potions for the same price as a hammer is better value.

I wouldn't say don't buy wall rings. Builder Base is still a part of the game, and it can give you an extra builder in the long run. It also gives you something to work on when you're waiting for troops to train. Plus walls are more of a PAIN in the builder hall since you only get a set amount of loot each day

I personally only spend medals on builder, research, and hammer of fighting/building. BUT, that’s only on my main account, my alternate account which is th9, I spend medals on gold because I’m too lazy to farm on that account.

Idunno I feel like wall ring is important since I use it in my builder base. It's more efficient if you use it that way since walls in bb is frickin expensive. This is my opinion only since I'm not basing solely on my main base.

I totally agree about how hero levels come to play. I prefer using a Valkerie bowler army with a queen walk. When I was a new th10 I rushed so my queen was only 20 then and i could hardly do queen as she dies so fast and then I put her on an upgrade spree for a few months in a row and now she is level 40 and I can 1 to 2 star th11 bases with 3 xbow eagle artillery and high level defenses and the queen does a lot of work and it was worth the hard work. New th11 player now level 50 queen here I come. For hammer I prefer using hammer of fighting and hammer of heroes. Hammer of hero is worth it especially when hero us one level away from ability upgrade.

I bought 7 builder potions: thats 10x process with 5 builders for 7 hours long so takes away 70x5 = 350 hours = 14,58 days off of your total building upgrades

BestGlaive in the world at least if you have 5 builders active in my opinion its better as you can upgrade way much more - i had 3 buildings and 2 heroes active all the time (and some finished in the progress so i started new upgrades)

Honestly its gonna be a complete waste if you think about it. Unless you plan on rushing your troops to TH11 without them being fully upgraded at TH10. Because once you finish all building upgrades, you will have to sit and wait for all of your troops to finish upgrading for at least 1-2 months, which means sitting on max gold, elixir, and even DE.
