In fact you can see at least a dozen different performances of it on my KZfaq Channel. For magic square this looks very interesting. I have performed Charles Gauci's Magic Square for years. I gravitated toward mentalism because of the way it can make a significant emotional connection with your audience. I never thought a magic square effect could ever do that, but this method and your presentation may have changed my mind.

While this looks good, not sure I really like the 2 numbers. I like the straight forward approach that Automatic Magic Square by Tori Noquez (Penguin Magic for $9.99) gives you, even though there is some memorization. I learned it 2 years ago, and still have the grid memorized! :) I love how everything equals their number, even the center squares.

(So one can „repeat“ it to a second person with a 4 by 4 if one does not fear the math).

I do watch your channel a lot. But this one I clicked on fast because of the title and image, for obvious reasons) oddly enough I’ve been thinking about a card trick max Maven did at a conference that had a similar themed conclusion. I still don’t know exactly how that one’s done. But he also did another one like this which I thought was just going to be this. But this one seems pretty different.

With all due respect to the creator, I feel like this effect is something that would be able to learn (for free) on Scam School. While the price is not high, I would be more attracted as a potential customer if the download included a couple of other effects; perhaps something to routine this effect with. I think that my real hesitation with this is the two-number approach (not a “true” magic square), wherein one of those numbers is predetermined by the performer. I do like the novel aspect of two numbers, but not that I would be 50% of the reason for the outcome. BUT, couldn’t the first number be the result of a force instead of the performer’s prediction? It could be by virtue of dice, or a deck of cards, anything with numerical values. And wouldn’t that be perfect for a couple, a mathematical ‘anniversary waltz’ of sorts? And with two people ‘selecting’ numbers, the second selection could be even cleaner (now hand it to the other person to shuffle…). Why invoke the necessity of the performer writing down a control number? Wouldn’t drawing a connection between two audience members be much more impressive? Are my thoughts on this idea completely misguided? Perhaps if that was the presentation advertised, and it included some ideas on how to have two audience members selecting the numbers, I would be significantly more attracted to this product.
