Thank you. I went to penguin to get my Mastermind deck right away. I have most "special" decks but I did miss this one. I have been a big fan and a subcriber for quite some time now and I really like your content.

Like there was ever a chance I wouldn't have to have both of these, with my addiction to gaff decks, lol. MM is also similar to the amazing Position Impossible, also highly recommended. Thanks for the review, been looking for more material on both decks!

Thanks, David - as always - very helpful! One more thing with pop-eyed popper (or any "invisible deck" type gimmick) that is worth mentioning is that you really can't let the audience member pull the chosen card - you have to do it for them since the gimmick is just a little finicky and has to be done the right way. I liked the mentalist deck better for that reason.

Mastermind is AWESOME. I cant wait to get it. Watch the 2 min 78 sec video on you tube. He does 2 great effects and the spectator finds his card 2x. I want a Pop eyed popper deck too. Thnx Glen

Great review David, l was thinking about getting a Mirage deck, but the Mastermind deck looks so much better. Can all of these decks including the Mirage deck be riffled shuffled.😊😊

@Nati's World I use a green MURPHY'S DELUXE (DLX) Close-up pad in either the 11"X 16" or "16 X 23" size. Casinos use the color GREEN on their card tables because it supposedly has a calming, relaxing effect on the players. I think it's a great choice as well, and in most of the Magic Castle KZfaq videos the magicians are performing on a green-colored surface.

Slightly more work to set up, but a Phoenix Double Decker can be turned into a swell 52 card Pop Eyed Popper.

@@RobertBallMagician yes you can riffle shuffle these cards. You can handle them as a regular deck overhand shuffle, riffle shuffle.. whatever

@@RobertBallMagician yes but you have to be careful about how you riffle shuffle them, or rather, how you set up your shuffle. There is a mistake that can throw you off.

What? I don't have this MM deck. I'm stumped right now. He says there is no "roughing." He's pulling 3H from any position. I have to go back and watch again, but it did appear there was a slight....hesitation...when pulling a 3H. He's able to flip the deck and spread face up. Now, I know we're not seeing the entire faces.......but he's flipping them back over and pulling an entirely visible 3H from any position. I haven't figured out the gaff yet. Hmmm. I don't think it goes as far as each card having "wings" (trying to talk in code), but I guess that's possible. I guess I have to think like a kid, like back in the days playing in the park on "slides." Maybe that's the key. I just think it has to be simpler than that. Ugh! If that much work was put into the gaff, I'd think it would cost a lot more than it does. I'm stumped right now bcs Im stuck on it having to be something simple.

@@magicorthodoxy No question, David. I was ....thinking outloud, basically. (I forgot how good you are at replying to your viewers!) No...I watched the video, and then was thinking about how the gaffed deck works. You said no roughing; no this, that, or the other. I haven't gone back to watch it a second time yet, due to work schedule. So, I was basically trying to figure out the gaff from that single viewing. That's all (trying to use my own code with my limited knowledge of magic. If I knew how it worked, I wouldn't ruin it for people.) I've been building some of my own gaffed decks lately, from my own ideas. It's a lot of work, and it's taught me from my own experience and experiments how a lot of these things "might" work. This one stumped me....because you're pulling out a full Three of Hearts from any position after showing at least the corners of a spread deck! Hmmm. I'm not close to being a professional in card magic, I have just been doing my own experiments, like I said. So...I'm thinking....Is it something simple that I'm just not realizing? Or is it a really complicated build? That basically explains my comment. Best thing for me to do is to just buy the deck! Always appreciate your reviews.
