This is a great trick that uses such a simple method to work. I love the ingenuity behind it. Fantastic trick.

And yet another great review, David. Gonna go check out the trailer, but it's not likely I'll be getting this one. Why? Well, I am at a point in my life that I prefer working FASDIU, and prefer to avoid gaffs whenever possible. Just me, I'm sure. That said, I am intrigued, and this does look like one worth considering... perhaps I'll add it to my wish list?

Is this the kind of thing that can hang out in your deck during other routines and then be brought into position? Could I do other things before or afterwards without either destroying the setup or being hampered by leftovers in the deck?

HI David - "one trick that would blow them away" is a great endorsement from you. I am always glad when you do a review BEFORE I make a purchase and have never been disappointed (and my spectators) when I follow your advice and comments. Also, glad you are not doing your "Chris Ramsey" style humor anymore on some of your other videos - you have too much "class" and experience to try to be like Chris. Thank you!

Wow, I'm not trying to be like Chris. I suppose some days I'm just more hyper than others

That's good - just relax and thanks for the magic reviews. Would you consider reviewing a new book that is probably not on your book shelf? "Game Changer by Jason Ladanye?

David thank's again for the amazing magic review.I am really amazed that the instructions are given the old school way!It makes especially pretty young magicians who started doing magic with video instructions find the beauty of an instructional booklet.You said that it can be inspected.Can it be 100% inspected?Or they just assume that is a regular deck because they shuffled it?
@magicorthodoxy
@magicorthodoxy 5 жыл бұрын
they hold it, they shuffled it, you spread all the faces - they can see every card - they pull the card out of the envelope themselves, what's more to inspect? LOL

Is this trick okay to try for a beginner level magician? Or is this more for intermediate to advanced?

It's easy enough, but you gotta be good with people and quick on your toes if it doesn't go right the first time

If they don't cut to it, is there an out? Because the reviews on penguin paint a drastically different picture then what you're saying here.
@magicorthodoxy
@magicorthodoxy 5 жыл бұрын
"out" implies you do something different to get to the reveal. You don't do anything "different" - the trick is just extended - if that makes sense

Buy it and find out David is not going to say why you would need gaffs in a stacked deck and neither am I as it defeats the purpose of giving a review

magicorthodoxy you can do better with a borrowed shuffled deck and the cross cut force. Plus on top of that he ruins the surprise ending of it being a coincidence (or if not ruining it, he certainly drags it out) by the awful presentation of ‘proving’ the spectator could have cut to any other card ...this is inferring what the end of the trick will be. You can do all the ‘you could have stopped me anywhere’ business after the trick is over. Of course my suspicion about the reasons for this are so you can put the dodgy deck out of the way before the end of the trick when they will want to investigate. This is a cardinal sin if it’s the case...putting method before effect in terms of sacrificing one for the other to this degree. If it’s not intentional then it’s a bad presentation that dampens the effect. Either way... virtually the same can be done with a normal deck and the cross cut force. Stinker. Save $30 go and buy the Royal Road, a fitzkee book and have enough change for a Big Mac!
