they rolled back from “cards must always be printed black border first” to “any time Magic is printed in a new language, do the first core set in black border” to no white border. Tenth Edition was printed in Russian with black borders. Although they technically stopped white border once they made the core set no longer exclusively reprints, I think the visual appeal of a recent black border core set helped end the practice.

I don't think so, but it kinda gets weirder. Note: I have not confirmed this, this is working from memory of things I've heard, mixed with me sort of making best guess. Proper magic historians, please feel free to correct my absolute guess. Iirc, legends itself WAS printed in Italian. That would be where your pendelhaven likely was from. However, they mentioned the Italian ones were half the set size, at only about 60. Which makes me think because they got legends cards printed already, they didn't need legends reprints like Germany or France. Anyone can hop in to correct me like I said. I would look into it, but I'm typing this on my lunch break, so don't have much time.

@adiuntesserande6893 2 жыл бұрын
@@krvys7226 That's exactly what happened. Italian Legends was the first non-English expansion ever produced, which is why the Italian Renaissance only needed the cards from Arabian Nights and The Dark. Consequently, you were much more likely to pull, for example, City of Brass from an Italian Renaissance booster than from a French or German one, which is why that is less expensive now. As for why the Italian Tabernacle, etc., are cheaper, that's simply because M:tG wasn't nearly as popular in Europe in the early years as it was in the US, and so those cards sat on shelves longer. It was overproduced for its market.
