I've been collecting a bunch of the cards from this block for years without knowing a lot about the story, so this was really, really neat!!

I'm really fond of this story and this block, has to be my favourite overall. I loved how excellent the new (for MTG) takes on the core races were in the first half, especially elves and goblins. I adore the aesthetic of the plane and I really appreciate what they did with both kinds of elementals, both visually and narratively. Though I'm usually not a fan of the "this nice thing is now dark and edgy" trope, I think here it did work on multiple levels as Lorwyn did have real darkness to begin with, the new setting brought a lot of neat quirks, and the switch wasn't permanent (though it did bring lasting consequences). I also thought putting in an anthology novel in the middle of the cycle was a great way to spice up the narrative while dropping us in the middle of Shadowmoor. I don't think Shadowmoor was as interesting a setting as the light side, but it was still cool. Plus, proper bug faeries always get bonus points so that evens out. All in all it's a real shame the actual card sales weren't as good with this one, such a narrative and thematic slam-dunk of a block (quirks and all) that didn't rely on planeswalkers and gave us a breather from human-centric stories!

Lorwyn/shadowmoor are in my top 3 favorite sets for sure. I really hope we return for real someday!

One of the better lore videos you’ve done!

I thought Lorwyn was such an awesome idea. I started playing and collecting during Odyssey block, and there was a ton of tribal. So cool. Plus... I loved the art.

The Lorwyn megablock was the last real M:tG set with *soul*.

This is my favorite set lore-wise, but the draft is not good enough to justify building a set cube.
