Thomas the Rhymer met the queen of ELFLAND. Fairies are not mentioned. The "stone circles" in the Fairy Glen are "tourist made" and the people of Skye really, really wish they would stop doing it! So, a main takeaway: Scotland is not a theme park, please don't treat it like one.

Well, the stone actually says "queen of the fairies", so if someone has to blame is the person who had it placed there

Just north of Oban, on a coastal path, there’s a “faërie tree” at the top of the hill. Its bark is deeply studded with coins, pressed edgewise into the tree as payment to the wee folk for a safe passage.

I've been to Scotland and a lot did not like English people. Whats other English peoples story in Scotland? I would love to go back ❤

Most Scottish people are incredibly kind and hospitable, but there are difficult people everywhere. I’d suggest avoiding any political or polarising topics and treat each encounter as different from the last. If you’re being kind and respectful, then it likely has nothing to do with you and everything to do with someone else just having a bad day. I hope you manage to get back to Scotland sometime soon, and make lots of sweet friends and cherished memories!🌍💙🤍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🎉

when was the fairy glan footage taken? last time i went there the stone circles and stacks had been removed, and signs put up saying not to build them as it's damaging the grass and wildlife (whilst at the same time they were paving new paths and tarmacing a much larger carpark area🙄)

The reasons the stones were there because tourist had put them there !! The local landowners and friends removed them because they were never there originally and also it’s only tourists that call it Fairy Glen and the same with the Fairy Pools . Always the same , tourists come here and spoil the place ! Leave it the way you found it !
