1/10.. anyone with 2 brain cells would’ve understood that code. An actual code would’ve been not using any words that exactly match. This is why it takes them a second sometimes to catch on… like for instance they’d never say “magnetic” they say “this trick is going to stick with us for a long time unless we pull the memory out of our heads really hard.” He’d say it better but that’s the general way he does it. It’s only enough words so that when they think of the similarities they can go “ahhhh okay yeah he knows I used magnets”..

I also appreciate a bit of an homage to one of the rope acts P&T have done. The final effect is super well done and extremely clean. Very entertaining. I love to speculate and guess how a trick is done. Overall when it comes to magic I don't necessarily want to know how it's done but sometimes it's even more impressing when you understand how clever it was to come up with the idea or how much work and practice it takes to pull it off.

Amazing how the whole trick revolves around a gimmicked rope, but in the end the mug being the star of the show really clicked. ;) Beautiful.

Really great a wonderful. I had some idea at the end, and had to check again to see, how a professional can handle a magnificent mug and, yes... the helmet helped me to stick to my answer... i think i figured it out... but that doesn't make it an less impressive...

You need to imagine that the mug is not threaded, then the mug will no longer be threaded. That's how they do this trick in the matrix. I love your presentation! 😆

I got it on the second viewing. You did a good job hiding the move needed to make it work. This was a lot riskier to do with two non-stooges on stage with you. Great trick. I like that it ends clean and everything can be inspected. Also appreciated the Slydini nod of involving the audience in the earlier two tricks.

@berninimagic This is 1 of 4 tricks on this show I couldn't figure out. The fact that you are able to drop the rope at the end is what amazes me. And your hand appears to be doing nothing but grabbing the handle... I'm truly puzzled. They even showed close ups on your hands... Well done! I don't get to be surprised often... This was great!

@@austingeorge6659 I get fooled all the time, but this one was easy to figure out. There was one gimmick (likely magnetic) handle that he attached to the mug, all while palming/ covering up the actual fixed handle. See 5:19. Then when he drops the mug at the end, the gimmick handle detaches (and stays hidden underneath the cloth) in his right hand. See 5:58.

So good! "I'm going to show you how a magic trick works". I love that you literally did, its so clever. Both of the two pervious mug on rope sections of the act weren't just there for entertainment but actually "show you how the magic trick works". Wow I'm mind blown.

I only watched it once and i am surprised you fooled them. As soon as you grabbed the cloth to block the view i was suspicious as to what else may be in it. But the way you palmed the handle made it even more clear to me. You definitely have a magnetic personality and you have a handle on things. I would guess the hardest part is to prevent noise of metal on magnet. Did you use something to soften the sound? Or was it just fine motor skills at work? Good performance none the less.

My guess is at 5:10 he rotates the cup to hide the real handle and attaches a breakaway handle that was concealed in the cloth. When he lowers the cup, he does it by the lip of the cup, not the handle so it doesn't break away early.

When he drops the mug at 5:52 the handle is facing downwards.

That is exactly what I believe he did as well. Magnetic handle perhaps, but you can clearly see him rotate the mug before he puts the rope through the handle he added.
@fuhkerz

You can actually see the real handle at 5:18 just before the camera cuts to another angle. His thumb is resting on the real handle and the small gap between his hand and the mug exposes it. Something you'd likely never notice in person unless you happened to be at the perfect angle like the camera was.
