Very cool and I've watched a lot of magnet fishing youtube videos but never seen a Go Pro mounted to watch the magnet, that was brilliant. I swear I saw a few fish but overall very cool. Thanks for sharing.

"you're supposed to let it cure for 24 hours... we're going to go ahead and let it sit for... 3 minutes" I probably laughed at that more than I should have. 😆 I think it would have worked better with the camera with the eyebolt on the face so ty could just Bob it up and down. Putting it on the side works better for throwing it out and dragging it back. By the way, blue locktite can be taken apart pretty easily, you just need to use some tools and maybe put the magnet in a vise. Thanks for the video.

I magnet fish a lot, you used it just wright the end is better I started with the center mount magnet and they get stuck a lot but I mostly do rivers and bridges . Good job keep up the great job !!!

Camera so interesting :). Is that a fisherman's knot on the magnet? I always use a poly rope for water, especially for diving you want it to float. I bet that magnet wont crack. That magnet is awesome, and beware you can get hurt by it. Too bad the catfish had no metal.

That was a clever idea attaching the flash light and camera to the magnet and they were aligned up perfectly. You could have turned on the strobe function and had “Disco” magnet fishing. Ha Ha !! The magnet certainly attracted the catfish. For casting the magnet out and retrieving it you had the eyebolt in the best position. For dangling it off a dock or bridge the other position would have probably been better. I would have opted out of the thread locker, just given it a good tight twist. If you have difficulty removing the eyebolt just put it in the oven at 400 degrees for a half hour or so & unscrew the bolt while hot. It might turn your magnet a slight bluish color but shouldn’t hurt it. Maybe you can do this again when the weather is nicer, that magnet should pull up some awesome things. H. H.

Great video, different but looks fun and interesting. Makes me wonder if the flashlight was attracting those catfish or the light "bouncing" off the magnet. I'm not a fisherman really, but those cats were definitely attracted to it.

Do you ever do any shallow under water metal detecting as youtube's michael oliver does, it would seem that Fl would be awesome for that sort of thing.. also magnet fishing is pretty cool however silver n gold are non magnetic as you know.

you have less pull with the side attachment vs top just so you know. One site said you lose almost 70% of the rated pull force when pulling from the side which is a good thing when it sticks to something too heavy to lift. Some come with an eyebolt in both top and bottom. I might try that. also, have you tried the go pro app with it to see if you can view what it sees from the dock? Is that a Go Pro? Not sure.

Always dry your rope as mildew will rot certain types of rope from the inside. Use a strong carabiner to attach the fly end of the rope to your belt or belt loop to avoid losing the magnet and rope. It can happen. Nice catfish on cast 1.

Always wondering what can’t pull up in places get tons of rusty hooks knives lures magnetic 🧲 sandy pieces, odd things wonder what brought to water for, kitchen stuff? Camera is cool never occurred to me! Have same looking magnet side mount came with locktite chrome peeling off, gotta get out bought adopted kid metal detector now. Probably same neighborhood.

Would this drag a fishing pole? If so, fort desoto pier (the cement one farthest) i know several people whose poles were dragged off by dolphins over the side. One was a $300 pole! Not recovered by owner.

Great idea ! I was wondering when somebody was going to do that ; you are the first , I think ! The catfish were definitely hungry .I bought a 3600 lb Brute Magnet a few weeks ago but haven't used it yet. I've been looking in the creeks up in NW FL and AL for old bottles ; not much luck with that ! I also bought a Garrett Seahunter Mark 2 MD ; still haven't used it. Going to have Knee surgery then it's on . Did you go to the Treasure Coast after the Hurricane ?
