Thats genius :) Perfect for exhibition layouts with a coliery. Access through the backscene for the magnet stick and you can easily show off working coal trains loading and unloading.

Yes would definitely be handy at exhibitions, especially as it's so quick as it means you're not spending ages struggling with the wagons. Thanks for watching 😃

No harm in repeating things from other sources. Sometimes there is a different spin on it which is "just right" for someone.

Great tip ! Any advice on removing loads from Dapol hopper wagons ?
@ThatModelRailwayGuy
@ThatModelRailwayGuy 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, if it comes empty then you could just make your own load and remove it in the same way I do in the video. If it's fixed in then it depends on how it's attached and whether it even can be removed. Having not owned a Dapol hopper wagon I wouldn't be able to say what the best course of action is. Thanks for watching 😃

Wonders what is the cheaper option, a bag full of 10mm steel washers and one magnet... ?
@ThatModelRailwayGuy
@ThatModelRailwayGuy 3 жыл бұрын
The pack of 40 magnets cost me £2 I think so they didn't exactly break the bank 😂 But if you already have a magnet and some washers that's definitely a great way to get started. Thanks for watching 👍

The inside of the wagons should also be weathered/dirtied up to make them look like they just had a full load of coal in them.
@ThatModelRailwayGuy
@ThatModelRailwayGuy 9 ай бұрын
Sure, but that would be a different video. In this instance I was just focusing on creating the coal loads themselves. Thanks for watching 👍

Instead of wasting all those magnets just glue a couple of cheap nails under your load and save yourself a bit of money.
@ThatModelRailwayGuy
@ThatModelRailwayGuy 3 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's definitely another way of doing it. I wouldn't call it a waste though since the magnets only cost £2 and there are plenty of other uses for them on model railway layouts. Thanks for watching 😃
