I think Erik kinda knew that Quicksilver was his son. You can see a little bit of sadness when Quicksilver was gonna say that he was his dad. I think at that moment, especially when he said he's here for his family too, Magneto realised

yeah tbh u don't need to be a telepath to fill in the blank "I'm your..." cuz it's either "son" or "biggest fan" and the last one doesn't quite fit the scene. Magneto's just feigning ignorance so he doesn't have to pay so much child support

On the one hand, I like that Mystique respected the fact that it's not really her place to reveal that Quicksilver is Magneto's son. On the other hand, THE WORLD IS LITERALLY COMMING APART AT THE SEEMS AND EVEN THE SLIGHTEST SENSE OF FAMILIAL CONNECTION MIGHT BE ENOUGH TO TALK MAGNETO DOWN FROM IT!!! JUST TELL HIM YOUR HIS FUCKING SON, PETER!!! Surely the awkward aftermath will be a small price to pay.

X-Men First Class (2011) my favorite childhood memories. X-Men Days Of Future Past (2014) was my favorite one. X-Men Apocalypse (2016) was badass. X-Men Dark Phoenix (2019) was ok.

I know it's frustrating that Quicksilver doesn't tell Magneto that he's his son. But I love the way this scene is captured and executed. Everyone is committed to this scene. I don't know where these Jennifer Lawrence critics get off. She's trying to get through to Magneto while also being compassionate. I guess that's not what people want to see of Mystique...? Maybe people don't want a comic book movie with this much complex emotion. Have you watched one of the MCU movies? The drama comes out like any teen soap opera. Somebody has the soapbox for 10 seconds or 20 seconds or 2 minutes and the other person acts understanding and compassionate. And then we just move on

The problem was Jennifer Lawrence is playing mystique as if shes Jean Grey and that isn't mystique she's not the leader of the xmen or a hero. Her arc ended well in DOFP and she should've become the mystique we all know and love instead of becoming not Jean Grey. As for quicksilver loved the actor but goddammit we should've gotten an I am your son moment with Magneto and have quicksilver join Magneto and not the xmen as he was never in the x-men he was in Magnetos brotherhood and then in comics later on shield. Jennifer Laurencekirk only became the star of this franchise because of the hunger games and it was a big mistake making her the lead.

It's sad considering the subject matter. It's not that superhero movies are children's entertainment, but they write about children's concerns. The whole sense is that the family is the most important concern in a child's life. Adults grow up and have larger matters to deal with.

"Dark Phoenix" is just an all time fumble for a franchise. Quicksilver being Magneto's son is never addressed, and Magneto's redemption arc just seems pointless when he becomes vengeful yet again. It's honestly just as bad as Kinberg doing an even worse job with Dark Phoenix than he did when writing the screenplay for Last Stand.
