The Magnificat is a traditional song of the Sisters, Faithful Companions of Jesus (FCJ), usually sung at significant celebrations. It was written by Dolly Bramley.
The FCJ sisters are an international congregation of Catholic Sisters founded by Marie Madeleine d’Houet in France in 1820. The essence of our lives is to be Companions of Jesus, sharing his mission. We live an Ignatian spirituality and, as Faithful Companions of Jesus, our missionary spirit urges us to adapt our work to the changing needs of Society and to the culture in which we live.
This video recounts the journey of the FCJ Society in the last 200 years. The pictures tell of the founding of the Society, the journeys of the sisters from Europe to Australia and America, and then to Asia, and shows a variety of our contemporary ministries around the world. In this year as we celebrate our bicentenary, we give thanks for those who have come before us, and for God's faithfulness and inspiration through the years.
