Kuya guide ay very good, 10🎉, may dahiln Naman n kaya na prepreserve ay Hindi masyadong nag concentrate ang gera s ibang lugar. Dito kc s Luzon naan Dito ang most crowded n population. Kasam n ang mga n aaccidenteng mga sunog. Kahit namn Hindi mansion ang Bahay ay magaganda din Basta malinis lng, at inaalagaan. Diyan s Lugar ng Sampalok MLA Marami pang mga sobrang lumang apartment type n ginagawang dorm ngayon. Sana Yung mga may property mag karoon ng budget para m mapa ayos, restore at preserve nila.

Fortunately I was one of the students of the College of Agriculture, Central Philippine University who was able to see the original Mansion on 1958 together with my classmates when we were looking for some wild plants for our laboratory. The caretaker was the one who allowed us to get inside.

Dyan ako nag highschool (1983 to 87) Sir Fern, sana bumaba kayo sa basement. nung student days namin, napapasok namin ang basement at naakyat namin ang bubong mismo ng torre. OMG! andyan pa din ang mga water pipes na nilalambitinan namin paayak sa bubong. Ang daanan pala papuntang basement ay nasa paanan ng spiral na stairs sa may torre. trapdoor lang sya. don't know baka sealed na ngayon. thank you sir fern, para na din akong nag homecoming sa alma matter ko. It brings back so many memories. thank you.

I saw the Lizares Mansion in the early 60s. Back then it was very imposing considering that it was the only structure in the area, so it really stands out. I was iucky i saw it back then.

Nakakatuwa yung bahay! Halatang nakakapagod akyatin yung stairs. yung pakiramdam ko habang pinapanood ko, parang kausap ko yung mga pinsan ko, all of them know how to speak ilonggo, ako, ilonggo lang by blood.

Most old houses have those "secret passages" which were accessible to the utility personnel and maids. Even our old house had those, but my ancestors were not rich.

I’m in awe of such architectural beauty- the style and details of every aspect of the building is amazingly stunning. Sayang lang the master’s bathroom is private. It would have been perfect if you were able to show the entire toilet and bath. Parang marble po yung bathtub and sink. I hope you can tell us more about its finishings.

Taga Iloilo po ako and every December dito kami nagsisimbang gabi. Ang ganda ganda ng mansion na to every december before kasi punong puno sya ng Christmas lights. 🫶

Actually halos kapareho din sya ng design ng Lizares mansion sa Talisay City Negros Occidental, lalo na yung design ng stairs. Kaso hindi sya mabibisitahan dahil residential na sya.

Lagi ako nanonood nang mga vlog mo naadik ako..kasi mahilig ako sa history at mga lumang bagay at bahay pero dito lang ako sa tour mo na ito kinilabutqn may something akong nararamdaman..malungkot sya.. nakakatakot pero strict ang may ari.. yung babaeng may ari parang supistikada.. pero mahal sya nang asawa nyang lalaki kaya nagawa itong bahay para mapaligaya nya ang babae.. iwan ko bigla yan ang nabasa ko sa bahay na yan.. at magulo na bahay parang may masakit na nakaraan

Wow! Thank you for sharing this vlog. Dami ko na alala sa school na to. 2000 to 2005 every Monday ung flag ceremony infront of the mansion, angelus prayer, 3 oclock habit. haha of course yung mga remaning skills kapag bagsak sa quiz not the typical grading system. Tambayan namin main door ng mansion. Flash back yung mga ganap sa hallway malapit sa canteen to finance;-) sa THE room sa likod ano na kaya ganap doon.

As Ilonggo passing by that mansion everyday just made your jaw drop from the architectural design of the Lizares mansion. Even as an Angelical school, only the richy rich kids enroll in that school. It's a good idea they opened that for tours to save it from the destructions due to flooding and anay. I wish he could have included the story of during the war and if there's any family left. If you go beyond Jaro to Lapaz district Sir we have many schools and government buildings designed during the Spanish and Americans time. Iloilo national high school main buildings have the same aura of designs and yes the basement which were functional before were used by the Japanese as torture chambers for our fellow Ilonggos that fought hard and gave their ultimate sacrifices so we can be free. We don't know their names. How I wish they were all documented and preserved for the next generations. I can feel how the family Lizares felt when they came back and found dead bodies of many Ilonggos. That mansion is not only for architectural but historical legacy of Iloilo. Great thanks to the Dominican priests and to you Sir for your great effort of showing us the many historical houses and buildings of our fellow Filipinos. I hope those mansions in Jaro will also be renovated and preserved. Growing in the 70's and 80's I still remember the houses of my own family and relatives. Not sure how my grandparents and parents afford it but the designs of the houses were huge, American style. My parents sold it ,my Aunt left it to her kids. Sad to say as of now nothing left. Totally gone destroyed by maybe flooding and termites and most likely left to destruction by the heirs that have no heart and no means to finance it. God bless Sir pn your journey to showcase our own legacy for the next generation to see.

The provincial capitol you shown is the old one. The old one is used for occasions & I did my birthday there. The new one is in the back.

I wish they would be able to clean and clear the basement and the tunnels. It would actually preserve and strengthen the foundation of the mansion.
