All this crazy engineering (and price) and they can't figure out how to give him articulated fingers?

Even though the transformation seems a bit of a bear I agree this looks like the definitive version for this character and it goes perfectly with the Megatank Megatron. It's a bit pricey though... Thanks for the review Ben.

If the elbows were double-jointed, then this figure could've been amazing.

I just thought I'd share that while MM-01 doesnt have articulated hands, Magnificent Mecha is releasing an add on kit that will include articulated hands, and the Cybertronian bits, to reflect his Cybertronian mode.

I honestly really want to get this, the transformation doesn’t look the best but compared to toyworld the transformation looked like it was sent down from heaven. And since I am yet to own a bb movie Optimus prime I think I will get this.

Really wish they would have incorporated the double elbow. Joints look tighter than tw. Especially the wrist. The movable hands add on will make this really great.

The issue you had with the legs is because the left knee wasn't bent correctly when you started transforming

I own the ThreeZero prime because the robot form just can't be beat. But I want to add a transforming one. All the ones previously just had something off enough in either form that stopped me from making the purchase. I don't care how complex a transformation is as long as it doesn't compromise the figure in either form. It's got the looks and proportions that i'm looking for in a transforming BB prime. A bit pricey? Sure. Finally an english review! Thanks Ben!

I had this on preorder. When the price info dropped so did my jaw. I figured I would wait for a review to decide. Thanks for being the first! It does look awesome. But I don't think it's $275 awesome. Especially after my purchase of the TW one back then. Once bitten, twice shy. I'd have probably taken it at $200 (same as monocrat)

I just wanted to address this, bcs I've seen some comments abt the add on kit being released bfr MM-01 itself being released. MM01 has already been released. I already got my tracking #, and so did everyone that paid their ShowZ preorders in full bfr 04/26. Stores still have it for preorder bcs the first batch sold out bfr it was even released, and the current preorders are for the second batch.

I can't wait to get mine!! Just 2 more weeks!! However, the reason he doesn't have double jointed elbows, is bcs they had to sacrifice the upper elbow joint, due to the arm being pushed up into itself for transformation into alt mode. There was no way of fitting the upper elbow joint, while still having the arm collapse into itself. Putting a second joint where you suggested would not only break up all that molding detail, but would also look unnatural.

got the fire scorpion. Absolutely love it. This looks good aswell. But for that price im good with the one i already got.

My toyworld freedom leader is disintegrating after each transformation as we speak. The chest doesn’t lock in, the plastic quality is bad, the lack of clearance forces you to flex a lot of the thin delicate panels. This figure looks pretty damn solid, and as complex as it is, is a godsend compared to the toyworld’s transformation. The truck mode is imo the very best of any transformable version of this optimus. The legs transform quite a bit rather than just hang off of the back of the truck like the toyworld and mpm. This is a must buy for me. Definitely the definitive version of BB optimus, thus far.

Beautiful piece but I would like to know when someone decided to rotate his torso because the original G1 didn't rotate. Makes no sense to me. Again great video

The only problem I have with this guy that would prevent me from getting it would be the back of the truck cab, where u feel like they could do what toy world did and flip it over and use the bottom of the smokestacks in robot as the top in vehicle.

The best knockoff I've seen reviewed. I'd like to get this figure but I already have the threezero, then again I'll probably get it for the truck mode, have the figures side by side.

If you watch the original cartoon, Bumble bees shoulders are at Primes knees the scaling is a little off.

I think the reason why those are bends are only a bend cuz they also play a part in the transformation as the arms are needed to be bend to a very specific angle and MM didnt want us to go through the trouble of bending the arms to a perfect 90 degree. This is just a guess

The most well done, a pity it is too expensive for me!

Hey Ben great video, I've got Freedom Leader. I dont need another version thats overpriced and a nightmare to transform. So far to date I've been unsuccessful in transforming toywords version, I've attempted it 4 times with the last one resulting in parts breaking. It looks good but for the price I wish I'd brought 3zero.

There are so many models and manufacturers in different size and quality... But there is one question I have: Which one of the masterpiece series is the most fun to transform? Some very movie accurate models like the WJ MPM04 look really nice but seems fiddly to transform. The huge amount of steps is cool but bringing them in the correct position looks like a PITA (but that may be cause it's more difficult to do behind a camera). Personally I like the MPP10 but I'll thankfully take any advice for a "more fun" one. Thanks

In my opinion, this is Wei Jiang rebranded. The similarities between this figure and Fire Scorpion are too many. I think this is what Wei Jiang had in mind if they hadn't rushed Fire Scorpion out the door before being shut down.

What's the comparison to ToyWorld's Optimus Prime? I wonder which one is better. I really like the weapons set that came with ToyWorld but read a review that the transformation sequence is very tedious. Just wondering if the Magnificent Mecha is any better/different?

Not sure where you got that the Bayformers in general are bigger than the Travis Knight ones. Maybe Mike Lorber told you so, maybe you got it from fan-made scale-charts from TFW2005 that being marketed as "official". Either way, your Black Mamba Prime is about 10-15% bigger in truck mode than it should be in comparison[(The way to tell is to compare the front bumper width cause the overall width of the trucks are standardised, also the Peterbuilt longnose truck Prime has significantly smaller cab than that flat nose one and the top of the cab should sit lower than the Flat Nose's which isn't the case here, not to mention the tire sizes which obviously should be the same)] theat means he's 10-15% bigger in bot-mode as well than should. On the other hand your OS UT Challenger KO is about to scale right with MM01, cause he's a tad bit shorter than MM01 and we know for a fact that 2007 lanky Prime equals in height with his Medieval Knight armoured version, just skinnier. You also keep overestimating Bee's bot-mode size, he should only come up to Prime's d*ck, not any further, Even Camaro Bee, who's a few feet taller than VW Bee should not come up any higher than that. So final conclusion. Bee Prime is the tallest, at least he's supposed to be 2-3 feet taller than the other two designs. Thank you for reading my rant. 🙏 😉👍

It looks more like the Wei Jiang version. I'm disappointed that such an expensive version doesn't come with fully articulated hands and a light-up gun. I think I'll stick with my Wei Jiang version, as it's much cheaper and looks great. $279.95 is just too much for this figure, IMO.

Personally I prefer Three Zero,I love that figure so much, not to say this figure isn’t good, this is fantastic, but the three zero is just a piece of art. This figure is awesome, the fact that it can transform is exceptional. The Three Zero also has a clean smooth feel to it and the articulation is also cleaner.

Wow why was megatron bigger than optimus prime? Doesn’t make sense. Ruins the whole thing. Bumblebee looks awful and way too small. Soundwave looks awful. Prime looks amazing but should be same size as megatron. Megatron looks incredible.

The size of megatron is a absolutely joke. Optimus and Megatron had the same size in g1. Why is it that they a true too g1, except the size of those 2…? I get that he might looks more evil. But my opinion, it looks too stupid and not g1 like.
