Farewell to Hatice Sultana "GOODBYE MY SULTAN..."

The swords are taken out this week on the Magnificent Century! Suleiman learns that Hürrem is missing and he screams the place down. While Mihrimah keeps the sultans responsible for this, Mehmet blames Mustafa. The two brothers fall out even more. Malkoçoğlu questions royal family one by one. Meanwhile, Rüstem starts to look for Hürrem. At the moment everyone loses hopes, Malkoçoğlu finds a clue to reach Hürrem. It is find out who has abducted Hürrem. Suleiman gets shocked with betrayal and death once again.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

So Hatice was happy in her final moments because she thought she actually killed Hurrem which would greatly hurt her brother and cause alot of pain in her nephew’s and Mihrimah while at the same time she would leave her children all alone without a father or mother at hands of strangers. that's for certain. And honestly, if I were child service I'd see to it that Huricihan and Osman were removed from Hatice's custody at once. They're better off without her. She focuses solely on getting even with Hurrem. She prevents any positive influence near them. And then, the absolute negligence. She doesn't oversee their physical, emotional and mental development. She doesn't arrange for playmates. She doesn't oversee their education. Nothing. She does nothing.

Selma ergec did a phenomenal job as Hatice sultan. I can't think no better actress for the role of Suleiman's favourite sister. She carried the burden of one of the most demanding and versatile roles in the series and she did it spectacularly. I'll try to be as honest and objective as I can, folks. Of all of Suleiman's sisters, I always liked Hatice the most. Because, despite her turnout later on, I think that deep down she's a beautiful person, both inside and out. When she's not stressed or hurt, she's warm, kind, friendly, plesant to be around and she doesn't lack in intelligence and culture. However, she lacked in real life experience. Due to the sheltered and overly indulgent enviroment she grew up in, Hatice became spoiled, entitled, volatile and impulsive. Clay at the hands of unsympathetic cowards who knew how to work on her emotions (Mahidevran, Sah and Ibrahim). I won't shy away from admitting that Hatice said and done many things that find me at disagreement with. Her blaming Hurrem for Ibrahim's infidelity was wrong. Her choosing to keep Ibrahim as her husband was wrong. Her seperating Nigar from her daughter was wrong. Being cold, dismissal and hostile to Hursev Pasha, while he was forced to marry her was wrong. But most importantly, neglecting her children so that she can get even with Hurrem is what I find truly unforgivable. I won't hesitate to admit that these things were making me want to smack her at the back of her head and tell her a real piece of my mind, despite the affection I have for her (they don't look alike, but Hatice reminds me of my late mother. And I want to believe that I'd be able to do something to help her get better, if given the chance). However, even wth these wrong deeds under her belt, I don't think that hatice is a genuinely bad person. She proved that with some of the good deeds she has committed (she defied her mother's orders and reunited Hurrem and Mehmet and when Suleiman was ill, she took in her nephews and niece in order to protect them from Mahidevran). She's just a pained and confused soul who wants to get back at those she thinks had wronged her. Due to her father's strict supervision (she was the eldest and dearest child of sultan selim the stern, but that means that he was keeping a watchful eye on her and that he wouldn't tolerate any steps out of line) and her mother's overprotection, Hatice never had the opportunity to learn. To grow. To mature. And that's sad, cause I deem Hatice the sultan of her generation with the greatest potential to greatness. she's beautiful, elegant, passionate and intelligent. If she could combine these promising traits with the ability to rely on calcultaion rather than impulse, how to seek what she needs to hear rather than what she'd like to hear and that being royalty is a sacred duty instead of a privilege or a divine right, Hatice could and would have been a true powerhouse on hurrem's side. Far better than Mahidevran, Sah and Fatma combined. She deserved so much better. I wish she was married off to Hursev Pasha from the beginning. He was a man who could honour and respect her. Perhaps even love her for the person she was and not just the title she had. She deserved a proper motherhood. She deserved a quiet, peaceful life away from the intrigue, backstabbing and scheming of the imperial court. Away from the pain that sickened her and turned her into something she never was and never should be. Farewell, Hatice. May you find the peace you were so wrongly denied in the afterlife.

The tragedy of Hatice's life is ibrahim's love. She is a victim of her own obsessive love, but she did not deserve to die like this. She always suffered for a man who did not deserve her. This love was more in her mind than reality.

Too many people cannot view these situations in the context of the time period. All these characters and their historical counterparts were trapped in a heinous system they could not truly escape. This does not absolve them of their own actions but it’s all too easy to think of their actors in terms of a modern, freer society. Each seeking love, freedom and fulfillment in their own ways. Such marvelous actors bringing their pain, love and complexity to life!

Maybe if Sueliman would have showed Hatice the scripts from Ibrahim's meetings with important people, of things he had said written down by the scribe about him being the real ruler, and having all the power, that he was mightier than the sultan, etc. she might have had a better understanding as to why he was killed. Hatice was never what one would call a strong person, little things upset her so many times. When she fell asleep and smothered her first child...she began to slide downhill. Then the death of her mother, Ibrahim's affair and the child from it, then Ibrahim's death...she snapped from all reality..someone had to pay was her conclusion.

When I first watched this series I loved Hatice so much , on the first episodes she was adorable , and I must say her evolution as a character ( or must we say decadence ) was most interesting to watch , I did found her annoying at times and at others I almost hated her but maybe I was being unfair I admit . I don't regret supporting Hurrem over her . But she definitely didn't feel empty to me like Mahidevran did , Hatice Sultan was way much more interesting to analyse . I do feel bad for her death but I believe she's happier where she is now May she rest in peace

One almost has to feel a bit sorry for her. She clearly was unwell in the head. But in the end, she was too consumed with her own emotions to the point where she really didn't care who she hurt when she made these mad decisions. Plus half of the people on this show who were against Hurrem were hypocrites and had done worse, or similar, to the things she was accused of.

U do realize hurrem was the true criminal? A russain concubine what right or entitlement has she over the ottoman king? She destroyed every balance. She was greedy. She wanted all the attention from Sultan. She needed everyone to bow to her. Why? She is just is just a concubine turned sultana. A minister like Pasha, Sultan's mother, even the mother of the first Born - Mahi devran, all are ranked higher than her. She needs to follow orders and rules that is there for thousand of years, not make new rule. She made a father kill his own son, the first born, who was a popular and just prince- Mustafa- who was innocent, framed by Hurram and her puppets. She killed the best Wazir, Pasha. How dare she? She should have been killed by poisoning long time ago.

Well also a lot of this is drama and fiction. Much of the "bad deeds" are fiction. I don't know of Hatice really tried to kill Hurrem or not. But not all of this true. From what I have read for example, there is no valid recorded history that Hurrem ever killed or murdered concubines. I havecread that she plotted against Mustofa. But beyond that don't know.

I've said it once and I'll say it again - did this point in history (and yes, I know this is a vastly exaggerated for the sake of tv entertainment situation) were pretty little vials of death just hang about the place? It's actually kind of tough to kill someone (even yourself) with a poison that isn't gonna leave you screaming or seizing on the floor pretty quickly. So are the just making perfume with a side of arsenic or something? Is every wealthy woman just automatically supplied with "In case of emergency, drink and let everyone else figure out your mess" bottles? It feels like every woman in the group is carrying poison around casually in their pockets!

No she wasn't. She willingly got herself involved. Hurrem wanted to be on good terms with her. She even saved her daughter Hurichihan when she was born. But Hatice chose to ally herself with Hurrem's enemies and stood against her. Hurrem had to protect her own as one would when their marriage and children's lives were being threatened. Hatice, her sisters and Ibrahim played a deadly game with Hurrem and Ibrahim lost. It was his own fault. Everyone had their own ambitions and interests to protect. Hurrem was only protecting hers. Hatice put herself in this situation and then acted like she was the victim. No one was truly innocent in the palace and they all got what they deserved. Even Hurrem ultimately knew she would have to answer for all her sins when she meets her Maker which is why she went to ask for forgiveness from Mahidevran before she died.
