Sultan Murad (Metin Akdülger) learns that Kösem Sultan wanted to kill him. Sultan Murad learns that his governor has agreed with the physician and sends Emir Çelebi's head to Kösem Sultan (Nurgül Yeşilçay). Valide Kösem Sultan, who learned that Sinan Pasha was a traitor, realizes that he has been exposed. Helpless corners. Knowing that Sultan Murad will not stop anymore, Kösem Sultan takes measures to protect Şehzade İbrahim.
Sultan Murad IV conquers Baghdad, despite all the measures of the novices. Kemankeş appointed Mustafa Pasha as the Grand Vizier and sent him to Shah Safi.
Returning from Baghdad, Sultan Murad falls out of touch with his war wounds. Sultan Murad, whose disease progresses well, falls to bed. Learning that the situation of Sultan Murad is bad Kösem Sultan waits at the beginning of his son. Mother settles son in sick bed.
Sultan Murad decides not to leave the state to the governor. It will destroy the dynasty if necessary. He then determines a bounty that will pass to the throne. Will Kösem Sultan allow Sultan Murad to destroy the dynasty?

Bağdat’tan dönen Sultan Murad, aldığı savaş yaralarıyla iyice takatten düşer. Hastalığı iyice ilerleyen Sultan Murad yatağa düşer. Sultan Murad’ın vaziyetinin kötü olduğunu öğrenen Kösem Sultan oğlunun başında bekler. Ana oğul hasta yatağında hesaplaşır.

It's debated in actual history why she let him take the throne, some say that she wanted everyone to see that Mustafa would be an utter shipwreck if he became Sultan, others say that she wanted him because he would be easier to control than Osman who was very ambitious while others still simply claim that it was part of the new edict, that the new Sultan must be the eldest Sultan.

This just broke my heart 💔💔 To see Mustafa this terrified of being murdered by his own brother and then to see the look on his mother's face and the look on Kosem's face, knowing that if Ahmed doesn't change the law this will be the way with her stepson and son, and then seeing Ahmed break down knowing he is at some fault for Mustafas condition was just too much. The acting in this is so good!!!!! American actors I find to be too mainline, they get the role because they are physically attractive but can't play dimensional roles like these characters. I'm sure other countries have the same but I haven't seen this kind of great acting in a very long time. Its hard for me to sit through a 2 hour movie let alone a show but im slowly getting through the series thanks to this site. And God bless whoever put the subtitles in English, history is my favorite subject and this empire is so fascinating.

Jen Lynne Yes, I was thinking the same thing. I cannot imagine a scene like this with American actors, both of these young men showing deep emotional pain as their characters and a vulnerability that I think in Hollywood, is viewed as being weak. Like Ahmet holding Mustafa’s hand, I feel like I so rarely see male American actors showing affection in films like this in a non-romantic context. Boran and Ekin did a fantastic job here

Ahmed knows what he did affects his brother, the saddest, his mom does not understand its also her actions. I understand the fear of losing your child due to the law, but when the brother has chosen time and time again to not kill.his brother whome he loves so much, gets plotted by you as the mother to get killed or get taken off the throne when he's not around, yes you are part of the issue. Poor Mustafa is the victim of power. Learn woman, learn.

I hate how these dynasties refused to acknowledge the mere fact that these Sultans and Sultanas were royalty AFTER they were human. And being a human means a living breathing imperfection. You can't expect a human to make all the perfect and right decisions. Ahmet never did sign up for this, he was born with it, he was expected to live through it even if it was the most unfairest to the rights of a child as much as it was a privilege to them. He had everybody trying to kill him since the day he was born left and right, many stood up before him, betrayals from his own blood, made fantastic and super problematic seemingly right decisions just for the sake of doing the RIGHT THING as a sultan. There's no right thing for a human. No STRAIGHT path with no bumps. It's always complicated. And being a Sultan made it 10× harder for Ahmet. No one intercedes when that same human portrayed as a leader( believed to never be wrong )comes to make a possibly wrong decision or choices. Downfall. Tragedy. These dynasties made some really awful laws and traditions then had the audacity to go call out on why unbearably painful stuff happens to them.

Book Worm I agree with you, the sad thing it isn't only the ottoman empir, many other royal families and dynaties used to be the same they used to see the royal as royalty and not humans. I'm glad that things have changed alhamdulillah This scene breaks my heart to see Even in the Quran Allah stated that he created humans weak and that we are weak beings that make mistakes.

What makes me like Ahmed even more is he had a tough and traumatising childhood than Suleiman. Had reasons to distrust and act cruel to ensure his safety. But he was fair in his family. He loved his brothers, children. He even went against his own mother to protect Mustafa. Because Mustafa was an innocent child. He didn't even banish Halime because of his kindness. And he loved kosem more but wasn't indifferent to Mahfiruze too. He was affectionate to her too. No matter what happened he preferred kindness and love over power and safety. One of the most favourite quotes of him is " When I hear the death of the princes, I hear mothers in the palace, their screams , their agony and pain"

All of these incidents of brothers going against each other happened because of sultan Sulaiman the magnificent as he failed to control his sons. He could just named prince Mustafa as his heir and enact a law that forbid princes killing each other except for serious crime like murder or treason.

@@Krim-zp8km its was a bad law and 14 th century struggle happened because a sultan died with out appointing a heir. That sultan was in captivity under timur. This useless bloodshed could have been stopped by sultan by nomination of heir after death. Any brother rebels after must be killed. Ottoman fraticide made the empire unstable and centralized leadership was not effective. Best way rule big empire is to have family members working together.

@@manmed89 that law was good Mehmed made it and he knew it as he was intellectual he knew history very well. furthermore the law was the main resason of Devlet-e-Aliye Osmaniye to be lasted for 600 years, other wise it wasn't possible we could see it predessors of Ottoman Empire, The Great Seljuk Empire and Seljuks of Rum.

@@Krim-zp8km but mustafa was not power hungry as his grandfather. He loved his father more than the throne. Sulaiman only killed him because of a suspicion but afterwards regretted it for rest of his life. Rest of the Sulaiman sons were not fit for ruling except for mehmet who died before Mustafa. Sulaiman made one more mistake by killing ibrahim pasha. Ibrahim did not do any Favors to himself because of his ego but he was the linchpin holding Sulaiman empire together with efficiency.

@@magnificentsultan1222 So, on the historical end, we're not entirely sure how mentally ill people like Mustafa or Kosem's son Ibrahim were. But, if they did have problems, it seems to have been a result of being isolated within an already secluded area with the constant fear that their siblings might elect to have them killed regardless.

@@magnificentsultan1222 It was from a later episode, I think 15, where Safiye tries to pull another coup and put Mustafa on the throne. She claims Ahmet is dead but he comes back just as they are trying to enthrone Mustafa and so as punishment, Mustafa is taken to his own rooms and then later on, he is locked up in the kafes.

I’d cried like a river in this episode！ I know why fatricide was instituted but see the consequences of that law！ osman the founder of the ottoman empire overlook the law of first born succession in that way bloodshed will be hindered！Anyways its in history and now we learned from their mistakes！ I just prayed that all muslim woman in world can exercise their rights equally with men.

osman has nothing to do with that, he named orhan his heir, orhan requested his brother alauddin to share the empire but alauddin said no because their father named orhan his heir, alauddin accepted grand vizier's job and they lived in peace. after bayezid's sons fight for 11 years they made this rule but ahmed the great dared to break the rule

The law of fratricide was instituted by Mehmed II. When Bayazid yaldrim lost to taimoor, the empire was in shambles. Mehmed II had islamic scholars back his decision. Fact is, kingship does not see blood. Ahmed I had to see 19 of his uncles killed when his father became sultan, glad he broke tradition.

poor mustafa. an innocent boy born of a family considered traitors because of which he was robbed of all the good days of his youth being locked up and then ended up becoming mad. his end was tragic. he was executed on a boat by orders of Kosem's son Sultan Murad. still it was good of Sultan Murad to let him fulfill his childhood dream of sailing until he was eventually executed while sailing his boat. even then I believe that it was rather a mercy killing. above all, despite knowing the conditiom he was in, it was good of Kosem to let him become Sultan instead of her son Osman in the first place.

Sultan mustafa was go get executed in January 20 1640 but he died January 20 1639

Good of Kosem??? How?? He was in no good condition to be with strangers, much less Sultan. Being locked up after Kosem took the power back and his mother being murdered in front of him was not good for him at all. Kosem did some inhuman things after Ahmed's death.

All the sins done by Sultans killing own brother even if they were innocent resultant in the end of Ottomans in 1924. The entire clan was compelled to leave the Country. Osman Gazi in 1299 started this kingdom with a vision of Justice and unity but his descendents later played a different role which was not the vision for which Ertugal Gazi and Osman Gazi struggled for building the base of an empire. Slowly it became an evil monarchy. Killing innocent brothers, sons even Grand children were not spared , this is the history of this family. Disaster to the dreams if Ertugal and Osman.
