In this video, I duplicate 14 different high-end and pricey home decor items I saw at the Magnolia store/Silos in Waco, Texas, for super cheap. These items include flower pressed coasters and wall plaques, a wall pocket, textural pillows, candle covered cloches, botanical prints, dried flower botanicals, wicker and sea grass wrapped vases, botanical print tea towels, wall baskets, distressed vintage book bundles, a crate enclosed large vase, an extra large serving board (made from a vintage ironing board) and a woven hanging pendant.

That’s why it’s great to have a channel that teaches you how to do these projects yourself. Don’t forget, you’re paying for the labour to actually do make these goods. And most of them take a lot of time. Look at the yarn and raffia lampshade. It took 8 hours. Who do you know who would do that for say…$5.00?????

For your botanical prints, if you place wax paper over your died plants, then parchment and iron them a second time. The wax will give the plants a sheen as well as protect them.

When working with oven bake clay, a good way to smooth out imperfections is to use cornstarch. Sprinkle it on like you would flour to dough. I dip my fingers in the cornstarch to lessen fingerprints. It does not affect baking. It's also effective to sprinkle on your work surface first to avoid sticking.

I felt the same way as you. I detest seeing books destroyed. I have said that in modern times, more than any other time in history of books. The same skills and expertise in making books is a thing of the past. Books are no longer bound using a person who trained for years to make a cover that was acceptable to make the book. I actually have a book belonging to my grandma, it was printed in 1843. It is the young cooks assistant. My grandma was a servant in a castle here in Ireland. I also have a huge pot which would have hung over a fire, to cook the contents. That too came from the same castle. The book is in bad condition at this time. But I am proud to own it. It is such a piece of history. I have a Bible which was printed in 1911. I have a Collins gem dictionary which has important dates and fact's the last date was 1964 Death of J.L. Nehru, prime minister of India. Another book I have is a book titled First Aid To the injured. It was printed in 1939. That book belonged to my Mother. Wouldn't it be a shame if someone had destroyed these books, just to make something that sadly makes no sense?. All of these books are in bad condition, but that doesn't matter to me. I keep them in a secretary hutch, so they don't become brittle by the sunlight. I love all of the items that Sherrie makes. But I shudder when I see anyone destroy books.

I'm passing this along to my daughter since she loves that decor. And I've made throw pillows from knit sweaters, like cable knit, that I found at Goodwill. So cozy!

I love the dollar tree rug pillow, that inspired me to make some pillows using other textured textiles from Good Will.

Your ideas and your finished things are amazing and inspirations. A few years ago I was at an estate sale and came across a couple of old wood crates. I bought all 4 for something like 2 or 3 dollars total. I wood glued the shaky slats that were loose or one side off before I nailed them for extra measure. Than I sanded them down. Painted them out with white chalk paint and then destressed with sandpaper. I then nailed two together and then put the two pieces together to make a short square bookcase or display case. It looks just like when I finished it back then and has been a favorite for books for years. A little elbow grease and a little imagination is all you need and maybe a few bucks for odds or ends to finish things.

I love all of your Magnolia dupes. I've got an old jug. I think it was a Rootbeer jug. It would be awesome in a crate. Again all of your dupes are awesome and at a fraction of the price Joanna is asking for hers.
