Magnum Quarantine Conversations: Alec Soth & Olivia Arthur

Күн бұрынThe ongoing COVID-19 crisis has resulted in most Magnum photographers being restricted in their movements.
As part of a broader photographer-led response, a new series, Quarantine Conversations, will see Magnum photographers in frank, and unedited dialogues about work, current affairs, and everything in-between.
The pairings for these conversations will be made by lottery, and this latest installment sees Alec Soth ask questions to Olivia Arthur. Alec and Olivia discuss her background in mathematics, photography's cross over with parenting and music, and compartmentalizing life.

Whoever is instructing y#all to keep the time down... Please don't. The people who watch these sort of videos would happily sit and watch a two hour chat!

I agree photography, like maths, involves the recognition of patterns. Data science even more so. I'd also say that digital photography is routed in maths - eg. every time you pull a slider in photoshop or look at a histogram on your camera.
