I have no sympathy for those who say it's too hard, I got diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes when I was 18 and had to fix my diet during my first year of college while getting a physics degree in a city hours away from my hometown. If I can do it, anyone can. Just don't eat dessert for three meals a day.

I'd agree if he praised Hikaru even a little after only beating him by 1 point in the SCC, but he always seems to blame being under the weather, not feeling so good or have some other excuse when playing against Hikaru. It almost feels like he wants Hikaru to feel afraid when playing against him so that he doesn't play at his best like he used to and still kind of does. I never see Hikaru do the☝"wait a second, is that a mistake?" when playing Magnus, like he does with everyone else, even though Magnus also makes mistakes, as if he's expecting Magnus to always be playing the best move.

For the scc at least Magnus and Naka are definitely rivals, they made the exact points counting their two last finals. And 3 time formats are played in the scc so is not just one format. That all being said, you could take that "second after not rivalry" either as trolling or as a compliment, maybe even both at the same time.

Before Hikaru was streaming and not taking chess as serious anymore, he had a terrible mindset against Magnus as everyone has. But now it’s different and Hikaru is one of the super gms with a decent chance. But Magnus will always have the way better odds on his side, against anyone. Hard to believe someone will come challenging Magnus consistently

He was serious, but stating it as a fact, not bragging. Magnus has won so much more than Hikaru, Magnus is clearly at a different level. But Hikaru has been close in rapid formats the last couple of years. But career wise it's not even close.

No he is not, Kasparov is. Magnus drew TWO World Championship matches in classical games against players who are his peers and those two peers havent won any world championships not even blitz, rapid etc. He had to win those two WC in blitz tie breakers. Thats an embarrassment. Kasparov never experienced that in his prime, ever. Kasparov smashed players across three generations and all with much higher pedigree.

Kasparov was already 37 when he faced Kramnik. Kasparov has been undisputed world champion for 16 years before that match lol. He was NOT at his prime. Sure he was still the best but 37 is not prime age for a chess player. And Kramnik is a world champion who defended his championship multiple times. Its a joke to even put Kramnik and Karjakin in the same sentence. Not to mention Kasparov convincingly beat prime Karpov and prime Anand convincingly in world championship matches. Both of these are considered all time greats. Carlsen barely beat a very aging Anand and couldn't even beat the other two nobodies in classical games LOL Now with new generation like Alirejza, Abdusotorov and Gukesh popping up, Carlsen runs.
