This is the REAL Viking diet! Alexander Skarsgård trained for nearly a year for his role as Amleth in the new movie The Northman. The celebrity diet that I designed for Alexander was a program with three nutritional cycles: the build-up cycle, the diet cycle, and the maintenance cycle.

There weren't avocados in Viking's time but I am sure they could love them and remember that they traveled and trade with people far from North to Mediterranean or even Africa so they were use to exotic food as well.

@@mitchy3438 It's funny because I was gonna say, my nephew's first comment was a dismissive, "they're all probably on anabolics anyway" Yeah I know that window, but did he really gain 30 lbs of muscle in 6 months? Not all lean body mass is muscle, for one. He's always been pretty fit and I wonder how much of the visual bulk was makeup and camera angles/lighting and making sure you have a pump etc. I want a Greg Doucette natty or not video tbh lol but truly the point to *me* is, it still takes an incredible amount of effort, and the right diet balance, even with great genetics and "alleged" PED usage.

So by listening to you at 01:30 and looking the workout you show Alex doing and at the header that claims "20 pounds of muscle" i'd say you didn't mention all the steriods you had him inject in his ass aswell. That's disingenuous. A teenager who starts training when he hits puberty could do that, not a 40 year old man. There is no fucking way an already grown man (who is not, let's say malnutritioned and underweght to the point of Christian Bale in the Machinist) packs on 20 pounds of muscle in 3-6 months unless he also gained an addition 100 pounds of fat at the same time too. That's just how the body works. It's more likley that he gained 10 pounds and maybe 5 of those could have been lean muscle mass. Otherwise he's jucing steriods like it's water.

Just going to throw it out there, if you're eating a very balanced diet (plus using a calorie + nutrient tracker to see your daily progress) you likely won't need any vitamins. But, taking a multi vitamin at the start of your day with the meal wouldn't hurt either, just to be sure. I personally take costco mature multivitamin (doesn't really matter between adult vs. mature).

Question Mr. Magnus: I break my workout into 2 identical upper body workouts (Mon and Wed) and 2 identical lower body workouts (Tue and Thu). Every workout starts with 20 min on the rowing machine and core at the end. The 5th day (Fri) is all HIIT also with rowing machine. Nothing over the weekend. I know you favor a 5 day workout as well but you have a different breakout for each day. What do you think about repeating each exercise twice a week with some rest in between?
@KTK44
@KTK44 2 жыл бұрын
Not Mr Magnus, but my take would be, you probably don't need to do 20 min on the rowing machine before a workout. You're not supposed to burn out before your strength training. 5 min is enough jus to get the blood flowing. Most don''t do such warm ups at all though. Doing a upper/lower body split is fine and gives you plenty of rest while also hitting all muscle groupes at least twice a week, which is essential so it's fine to repeat exercises doing the week. That said you can always mix it up with a push/pull/legs split if you fancy something new. But no matter what always remember to PROGRESSIVE OVERLOAD!

Hi guys, I would really appreciate some advice. I've been wondering, If I am carrying a fair amount of body fat but wanted to build muscle mass, would I need to start on a cutting cycle and lose the fat first?
@heir2n018
@heir2n018 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, you would need to cut first, don't focus on Cardio or running alot and under no circumstances DO NOT stop eating!! The starvation diet is ridiculous and Ineffective. Put on muscle while drinking more water and zero sugar quality beverages like Body armor and stay hydrated all day. Start lifting weights make sure you follow a basic lifting process and hit every muscle group. You'll be cutting and adding mass at the same time

@Alenas Kvasninas I actually agree with this tbh, very well said and put together thank you for the correction. I personally cut from 170 to 150 then out muscle on but it wasn't as hard for me as it would be for others, perhaps he's better suited taking you're recourse instead,

Man all those meals looked great! I wish I liked eggs, I really need to teach myself to eat eggs. I never grew up eating them, and never acquired the taste for it. Seems like such an affordable and good way to maximize your protein.

I love that Magnus is really honest about the time and effort it takes actors and athletes etc to get their bodies into the shape we see onscreen and that how regular ppl can look etc but just be realistic wrt time and our regular schedules. Pro athletes and actors etc are paid to spend this much time and effort on their appearance

My problem is that I want to get bulkier, but eating a lot feels like a chore to me, I don't enjoy it at all. I've managed to raise my weight from 72kg to 77kg since January, but I've hit a plateau now. Also, eating a lot seems to be stressful to my digestion. Any tips for me?

Time to take some bulk protein brother if you’re struggling with eating. Look at mass gainer from Mutant or other brands it’s protein shakes with 1000 calories + and alot of protein
@mattpatt199

@@LeatherfacePapi i agree somewhat.. but if he is already having digestion issues mass gainers are the WORST thing for that. Im speaking from experience. You are better off making your own shakes and adding things like oats, banana, peanut butter, nuts, dates, etc to bring up the calories. Eat smaller meals more frequently and mix up the protein sources. E.g can be tuna, beef, chicken, salmon eggs, sardines etc. And keep fibre intake up to keep your gut happy. Even take a fibre supplement if you need. Start with adding 1-2 home made mass gain shakes a day and see how you feel. Then add a few little whole food snacks. Goodluck!

I wouldn’t do mass gainers, they wont really dk you any good. You just need to slowly bring up dail calories. Im in the same boat as you, i could honestly eat one meal a day and be fine so everything extra is being forced down. If you don’t mind gaining some fat for a few months id reccomend doing a shake in the morning with whole milk (peanut butter/ protein powder/ some fruits) you can get 800 calories out of that first thing in the morning. And a cup of trail mix as a snack at somepoint during the day can get you like 600. Youve already made a ton of progress you should be proud

Consume more liquid sources of protein. You won't feel as full and it won't bother your stomach. Drink plenty of water. You also need to workout with more reps, more sets as your muscles get used to your routine.

I recently came across Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame snack packs. They come in 22.5 g/100 calorie packs, and the macros are incredible. 4 g of fat, 7 g of carbs, and 10 g of protein. I keep the box in my car and down a pack on my way home after the gym.

Oh that’s tough! My fiancé is allergic to dairy and just did an elimination diet to figure out what else he was allergic to. Oat and coconut are the easiest “dairy” alternatives. Sunflower seeds are a good nut alternative too
