Smith won the fight.. but predictably got harshly treated in Russia. I had it 116/112 for Liam. Kurbanov is a good fighter and definitely had his moments, but Smith did the better work. Hard fought fight but clear enough, and had it been anywhere else but Kurbanov's hometown then Smith would have gotten the decision. And the referee was dire. Let Kurbanov hold throughout without penalty. Issued warnings throughout but never did a damn thing about it. Big mistake going to Russia. I hope that officials from the WBO look at the fight and act accordingly.
