@@opflyfishing7437 I ended up sanding the the ends with a dremel. It’s not the pins. I posted a video on Reddit. The M4E1 has extra material by the pin holes that rub against the dust cover.

@@86steventura cool man thanks I’ll check it out! I noticed after I installed it and manually moved to cover up and down a few times it was rubbing really hard by the pin hole. Thanks for the info I’ll see what I can do tonight with it.

Same would go then for the CMT uppers as well (for those who don’t know, they make the uppers for Forward Controls). They are all very picky when it comes to dust covers which is quite annoying.

That's fine. Everyone can have their differing opinions. Magpul also offers some shit products. Now speaking from experience. Charging Handles and Dust Covers from SI are solid products... They have alot of fruity shit. But those 2 items I personally know are solid.

It's hillarious that people will spend $400 on a trigger, $200 on a muzzle device, ~$X on a "bad lever", ~$Y on anti-rotation trigger pings, etc, and the end result is a gun that's objectively not any better than what it started out as but costs a lot more. If it isn't broken then don't fix it, period. This product is yet another example of a company trying to fabricate an issue where one doesn't exist to then sell you the solution.

Aluminum is more likely to permanently deform (plastic deformation) than polymer which is more likely to return to shape when bent (elastic deformation). Think bent aluminum magazine feed lips. It's safer to drop a loaded Pmag on the feed lips, as the elastic flexibility and durability of polymer resists damage to the magazine. Plus, polymer is kind of the Magpul brand. Everyone knows they do it well. It also sets it apart from all the other dust covers. Although a metal dust cover with the little spring for easy install without tools would probably also be popular. It's hard to tell if there's a weight difference, and I'd like to know, but I doubt it's significant, just a few grams either way. It's just an AR-15 dust cover.

@@Paelorian Yeah true, I know polymer is their thing, but just something about seeing plastic on a rifle besides the mag, stock, or pistol grip/foregrip is just weird to me for some reason lol. I know it's just the dust cover, but still. Since Strike Industries was the first (I think) to come out with a polymer dust cover for the AR, I just get a bad feeling about them whenever I see them. Magpul polymer is definitely better than Stroke Industries polymer, though. Aluminum mags can definitely be durable (Duramags, for example, are awesome).
