This is a quick video review of the Magpul MAGLINK COUPLER. I go over how it goes together and the function of the item.

I can't seem to get it to work with gen 2 magazines, the screws won't catch

I wish you had answered the numerous people below who asked about the screws not catching which is why I watched the video. Then you stopped before screwing them in- Im going to see if I have any Gen3 mags maybe thats the problem. What sucks is the guy who sold us the Maglink also sold us 10 gen 2 magazines at a gun show so we kinda go screwed on that if it only works on gen 3!! Thank you for the video, though!!

Song about four days later I went to Home Depot you can find screws that are the same size they’re just a little bit longer and it works just as well it catches on the other side you just need to cut the screws a little bit so they’re not coming out the other side but by the time I make this there’s already a new one out for gen 2-3 mags

How'd the screws go in. Can't seem to get them to catch. Even with no mags

I had the same problem. I don’t think the screws are supposed to be in the deeply sunken side they come in. Take them all the way out and put them in the shallow side

I have found I have to download the mag on the left by two rounds so the first round does not unseat during shooting, particularly during hammered pairs, or triple taps, etc.

This is not the Vietnam war era were you are taping two metal us gi mags together. I don’t know about you but I’ve watched pmags and other mags that are put upside down dump rounds straight out under vibration. Hence a rifle firing shaking those magazines. I have 5 magpul mag link setups. One staggered with 2 30 round mags for testing, one with 2 40 round pmags with taran tactical extensions level not staggered, one with 2 30 round pmags level not staggered, and one with 2 30 round pmags with taran tactical extensions level not staggered. Everyone says you have to have them staggered I found that you don’t. If you keep the link low enough it does not cause any malfunction with the dust cover. Keeping the mags level I found just makes shooting prone with this setup more stable. Additionally they hook into you pants pocket easier. Just my research on it. If you guys want video let me know.
