These guys are the real deal. Absolutely historic interview with two giants of the music world, who happen to both be closely connected to a modern day spiritual master. Many fans may not be aware that when John became a follower of Sri Chinmoy, he was given the name Mahavishnu by Sri Chinmoy himself. John later had a band called the Mahavishnu Orchestra... I met Sri Chinmoy myself years later as I participated in many of the Sri Chinmoy long distance running races held in Queens, New York City in the 1980's and 1990's.

I recall hearing/seeing, These two musicians performing in The Mahavishnu Orchestra, at The Fairfield Hall, Croydon, London, appx 1974. When the concert began the volume was so loud ( just saying )I thought I possibly should leave the Hall but it settled down. Also recall John mclaughlin, shaking hands from the stage with some members of the audience at end of the concert. Sorry for being boringly nostalgic. Anyway, Peace to all.

I remember guru well. I was not a disciple but back in the late 70s-early 80s I was friends with Gaye Mehegan who was a disciple (wife of John Mehegan-jazz pianist) . She would bring us to some of Guru's meditations in Norwalk, CT. I remember the natural food restaurant they had as well. John McLaughlin has been a guitar hero to me since the 70s. A lot of great musicians used to hang at the Mehegan house and were in or around the Sri Chinmoy group at that time. Larry Coryell also lived in the area. At that time I was a student of Tarot and Kabbalah while my wife became an initiate of Hazrat Inayat Khan's Sufi Order of the West. It was a very cool time.
