The new Mahindra Thar has been a runaway success - a mini (replica) Jeep Wrangler that has given a lot of people in India aspirations to turn overlanders. This is the story of one such Mahindra Thar, that has been given a full makeover in just 15 days - not a simple feat by any stretch of the imagination.
It gets a full body rack that is mounted on the stock hardtop. It also gets two water tanks with a pump and a tap that should make life in the wilderness that much easier.
Have four in the family who want to travel together in the Thar? Worry not, you can now store your luggage on the roof. This, is a proper build.

Don't be apologetic about having off-road tyres on 2WD. They're very purposeful especially if your vehicle lacks 4WD. I run AT or MT on my old 2WD Scorpio on wet clay tracks and they help. Cheers.

Oh no. Not apologetic. Just a cheeky comment on people reacting to me engaging 4x4 off road for the first time and not seeing the thrill in doing baby obstacles on sand. They missed my perspective - easy on a car, challening on a bike. That's where the thrill lies for me. Cheers

Seems like really top notch work. Thanks for presenting these in a structured way for enthusiasts. Overlanding and other purpose specific mods are fabulous. Only issue is that in big metros in particular these become a cop magnet to be stopped and challanned. Big issue if its also your daily driver and not just kept away in the hills.

Your thar is far more good looking and serves all the purpose of daily commuting weekend off road trails. Metal bumper and front grill all you need to give your thar more aggresive and mean look.

I planned to buy THAR in the last year but dropped as we can't carry luggage of 4 to my hometown or my wife's. This is the only reason from dropping. Now after watch this video, this mounted rack is solution for luggage issue. Thank you.

Im not a fan of Mahindra vehicles and shall never own one . But I must say your work looks pretty neat on camera . 15 days for all this mod is commendable 👌great job The owner can consider a recovery winch next .

Few months back i went classic SP for arm rest and dead paddle for thar, Mudit father gifted me air perfume for my new thar. He is also gentle men like these boys and yess he give me sweets(parsadam) also 🙏🏻🙏🏻💐💐

Abhinav, what was the total cost for all these modifications. From the video that you've shared, I think its best or better to get the soft-top or the convertible model and add these things to make Thar even tougher.

Superb - Fit a PUREIT sort of a waterfilter to make water potable. Sureshot clean and sterile water - i will do this.
