Rapide [rapids]: He's talking about a relationship gone astray due to (his) promiscuity, incomprehension and false rumors spread around. He used a beautiful metaphor describing his tears as rapids locked inside the iris...rapids he has to climb (it sounds really poetic in italian). He's saying there's no trust nor future for them, that he will forgive himself this time and not fall inside the rapids of his partner. I love the scene where one of those rapids is approaching him as a wave does on a shore 3:11 …such a beautiful image!! :)

Dopo un anno dalla sua uscita, non riesco ancora a perdere un minimo di emozione ascoltandola, e non riesco a trovare alcun altro artista che mi soddisfi quanto lui.. è unico davvero.. ormai la colonna sonora della mia giornata è tutto l'album Ghettolimpo.. con ovviamente anche Rapide.. Io devo dire che Mahmood non è il mio cantante preferito (il mio cantante preferito ci ha lasciati nel 2009) ma le sue canzoni sono abbastanza emozionanti ,hanno un senso e secondo me ...lui ha talento. Complimenti :,)

This is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard. The lyrics, wow...so poignant and real. He is a masterful story teller who sings from the heart and you can just feel the whirlwind of emotions coursing through his veins. He knows it's over and there is no future for them but there is still a sense of nostalgia in the wistful reminiscence of their time together before all the bitterness and heartbreak. Io ho un'altra età, come te... e nonostante continui ad amare jazz e cantautorato italiano anni 70/80...trovo che questo stile abbia dato una rispolverata alla musica italiana. Mahmood, per quanto poco, ha subito le influenze musicali di un'altra cultura, e lui da ragazzo intelligente l'ha fusa con quella che più conosce, tirando fuori un genere bellissimo.

Après l'avoir vu et regardé quelques commentaires ci-dessous, je crois que cette chanson représente le rapport d'auteur aux relations sexuelles dites libres. Les paroles suggèrent qu'il a eu une histoire amoureuse avec quelqu'un. Je dois dire que cette perspective est subversive parce que Mahmood révèle les sentiments de quelqu'un dont on pense qu'il en est dépourvu. On voit les hédonistes comme de cyniques salopards qui ne sont pas capables d'aimer ni de prendre responsabilité pour personne. Il y a aussi un trait impressioniste : on ressent ses amants comme des éclairs iridescents. Alors, il faut profiter de la vie par éprouver ensemble de beaux moments, par se rendre spontanément au voyage à n'importe où, par goûter les couleurs du temps passant et le corps d'un amant. Quelle idée ! C'est impressionant ! Félicitations !

I was born in Italy, to immigrant parents from a Muslim country. I left Italy long ago. And rediscovered Italian music just last month. But I just have to stop and comment about your lyrics because they have themes of immigration which just take me to memories of my life in Italy, one that I've lost. non critico Mahmood ma preciso che tecnicamente questo non è il suo timbro naturale ma è un modo di cantare , per farla semplice è come eros ramazzotti che fa una voce nasale , cioè costruita non naturale . e' comq una scelta stilistica condivisibile o meno , tuttavia penso che di grandi cantanti ce ne sono tanti in Italia e nella maggiorparte dei casi non sono famosi , data la molta e troppa raccomandazione in questo campo.

I'll be honest- when I first heard of him and listened to the first song I fell in love with (Barrio) I had this impression of Mahmood being your typical hard-core, 'fancy', super masculine and somewhat ''''shallow'''' popular singer. But boy, WAS I wrong. With each new song I listened (and actually translated the lyrics enough to understand them), I found how well written they are, how visually beautiful the MVs are, and how deeply profound the emotions are in the songs. I'm ashamed of my initial thinking. I'm so glad I heard that first song of his on the radio. Much love and support from Serbia! 💓🇷🇸

Da insegnante e pianista con formazione classica in conservatorio, vi dico che questa canzone musicalmente (anche le parole ovvio) è una delle più belle che abbia mai sentito. È piena di frammenti melodici diversi, nelle strofe, nel ritornello, nella coda finale. Voto: 10. È una canzone perfetta.

Dieci no. Per un motivo molto semplice, anzi due. Il primo: l'incipit è identico a Invece no di Laura Pausini. Secondo difetto, che da insegnante d'italiano m'infastidisce: talvolta eccede con lo spostamento d'accento. Tuttavia cerca di evitarlo (pur se non sempre ci riesce): e il risultato è ugualmente fascinoso. Il brano rimane un azzardo, a partire dal titolo, parola sdrucciola, al plurale per giunta, del tutto inusuale per la nostra cifra poetica. La maggior parte dei vocaboli italiani ha l’accento piano, infatti tendevo a pronunciarlo alla francese: “Rapìde”. Temevo poi una serie di rime cacofoniche, ma per fortuna mi sbagliavo. Anzi, un testo bello, semplice ma mai banale, con pennellate suggestive e il climax “scalerò, scalerai, scalerò” che avrei voluto ancora più… esplosivo. Insomma, ogni tanto ho l’impressione che il ragazzo si trattenga, e mi vien voglia di dirgli: e dai, sfogati una buona volta, fai esplodere la rabbia! (o la passione, o entrambi). Da qualche parte ho letto che non ne avverte l’esigenza, non ora. Vedremo. Gli auguro di durare, perché ha del talento, purtroppo oggi è molto difficile sopravvivere e produrre musica di qualità non dimenticando il mainstream. A me sembra un personaggio interessante, se non scivola e continua con la sua ricerca (non nascondo che, a 55 anni, aspetto l’album con una certa curiosità), potrebbe rappresentare l’evoluzione della tradizione italiana, tributaria del rap, come del r&b e della musica etnica, ma senza limitarsi a goffe imitazioni. Il suo paesaggio di formazione, quella periferia milanese che conosco molto bene essendoci nata, e in cui mi ritrovo, lo aiuta, perché siamo da sempre i primi contaminati (e contaminatori). Quanto alle sue ascendenze paterne, beh… i figli degli extracomunitari sono i “terroncelli” di un tempo, e lo scrivo con affetto, il mio cognome non è certo nordico. In questo periodo storico gli dà una marcia in più. Molti miei studenti sono come lui. Ah, il voto? 8. Finora è la sua migliore.

Mahmood is innovative and speaks reality, I really hope he works on more songs because this is what we need to listen to.
