He has such a strong voice. Man his lyrics get me every time. This song found me when I needed the most. These are the words my wife told me everyday I tried leaving her. The day I told her I was seeing someone else she told me I still love and I will always love you. Her love was so strong I couldn't leave her. I’ve heard people say how impactful certain songs are and how it “hit” them and I never really got it. I’m super passionate about music, but never had it happen. But this song did it, trying to write music, this captures the exact emotions I couldn’t put into words. That’s a great songwriter, capturing emotion you can’t even express yourself.

Somehow yes, but this is normal if indie is the only thing or the genre you listen to the most. Furthermore most of the singers and songwriters write about the same which may lead us into feeling that they sound the same because of same chord progression etc.

I think to some extent they should sound similar, because it's the same genre...but especially with Rhys I feel like he has this rasp in his voice which is very special!

Lena Hirtl yes you are right. When it comes to indie one can say that indie musician do sound the same but each of them have got something special. Take Matt Corby‘s immense vocal range as an example or RY X‘s calmness or Ben Howard‘s guitar skills and songwriting skills.
