They were correcting your grammar. Alot of people say to start correcting someone's grammar when you're losing an argument with them. So I guess you could say that they were losing the argument and didn't wanna admit it. Which is why they were correcting you. Just a guess though.

I like the fosters but I don't watch Disney channel anymore so I didn't know that she was in that movie. srry but I think that movie looks stupid & the title sounds stupid
