Maia!!! What a brilliant video. You’re so lucky having a thrift shop for hobbies, our charity shops are full of cardigans that smell of old ladies!!! You hit gold on those pencils, and I loved the Japanese store. Take us shopping with you again, I loved it. Love from your friend in the UK 😊

OMG, I've got serious shopping jealously now!😂 What great stores, I love the Japanese one, and thrifty Crafts stores, are not a thing over here, but gosh what a great idea. We can't even buy normal new prismacolors in stores here, let alone find some second hand ones, what a super place. Really fun to watch, thanks so much, enjoy your goodies, x 👍

Lol i know the whole prismacolor thing in europe sucks !!! I had no idea how expensive they are and hard to find they are till this year ! That crafty thrift store is unique here as well , when it opened my friend told me about it and i had been wanting to go for over a year ! Wowee!!! What fantastic places you are able to go!! What great finds! There truly needs to be more places like Remainders!!!!! Thank you for sharing your adventures. Your girls looked like they were having a ton of fun, too!! I had to throw out my fineliner set when I switched art spaces. They were mostly dried up. Hi Karry !! Ya Remainders is definately a unique store and such a cool idea !!! I asked if they were still taking donations and they said not at the moment because they are so packed fulll of donations already they dont have space ! Lol its in a ghetto part of town so their rent is probably cheap ! Anyway have an awesome week my dear and happy coloring !

Love this video! I would spend so much at the store!!! We have nothing like this store. Fine liner tips and tricks are awesome! Then that art store haul, wow! I am working with some non-profit programs and those pencils would be an amazing find. I have found some at our local thrift stores but nothing like your find. Thanks for sharing!

Hi dear !!! Yes that was an awesome rare find which is why i decided to share it on my channel !!! Ya the upside of living in LA is lot of cultural stores here ! I Love the book store! Its on my list to go to! The only thing that makes me hesitate is the amount of traffic! I live in the High Desert.. you probably pass me when you go to Vegas🥰

Oh wow yes i totally passed you then 2 weeks ago !!! We drove out to Vegas lol !! Honestly for books its easier and cheaper to get books on Amazon Japan !! And much better selection !! The store has a very limited selection !!! Happy coloring my dear and thanks for stopping by !

I enjoy your videos so much!! I loved the adventures!! The bookstore you visited on Mothers Day has another location in the Santa Anita mall by the race track in Arcadia. I go to the gym in that mall and visit it sometimes. I discovered those Supercolor 2 there and funny thing I picked the same light green for my stash!! Love that color!! It is a rare find! They have a very small shelf of coloring books. They wrap all their books in saran wrap so you cannot open them which is annoying. and I get it!! Your girls look adorable!!! Thank you for sharing!

Ya so annoying when they wrap books in Saran wrap !!! I agreee! Oh yes theres another location in Santa Monica which i have been too maybe 2 years ago ! But its smaller . Anyway ya that green pencil is the best color ! The brutfunner macaroon set has a similar color called lettuce ! So glad you liked the video ! Have an awesome colorfull week my dear !

i was given some hand me down prismas that are those originals as well and i think i have that color too! (I can't remember the name either ) those are the best fineliners. I've had mine since I started adult coloring.. they've lasted forever . great video!

An enthusiastic thumbs up! Great concept for a video. Tokyo is also my dream destination and I’m hoping to make it reality for Summer 2025. I could have spent a lot of time in the Japanese bookstore. We don’t have those in Kansas City where I live but we do have thrift shops, I have a free afternoon tomorrow and you just may have inspired me to go see what I might find. Thanks for this gem of a video!

Just had to follow up. Much to my surprise I found that we do have an art supply thrift store in Kansas City! I googled it when I was out and about Saturday and found that it was only 10 minutes away from where I happened to be! So of course I went and they had the used colored pencil grab bags too. I bought a large bag for $5. I sorted through them and it had tons of Crayola but also had 59 Prismacolor pencils in 39 different colors( had several pencils that were the same color, 6 pencils in Canary Yellow, lol) Anywsy, it was worth the trip to tge store and I’m going to use them to backfill my full set of Prismas and maybe start to build a small travel set . Thanks for giving us the idea of looking for art supply thrift stores, I never would have known!

Nice Japanese stationary shop! Wow the bags of pencil you got at the thrift shop, nice find 😍..I have some of the old berol prismacolor pencils myself purchased them some years ago, a few are watercolor...now they are antiques! lol. I think I purchased them at Joannes many moons ago.. I have the donkey and rooster page picked out to color next in "symphony of cute animals"...so many cute pages to color and the paper is nice. I plan to base mine with inktense like you suggest. I like how you colored the water on your turtle page. I can use your fine-liner tips too, much appreciated ❣This was a fun and informative and enjoyable video 🌻🌱🌻

Lol Kristen !!! Actually i have another channel that i started a while ago but havent had an inspiration to work on , its called CraftedbyMaia and i only have like 17 subsscribers or something ! Haha ! But when inspiration strikes ill add more and work on it. I have done many different crafts over the years , i used to be into scrapbooking and junk journaling, creative journaling, also once in a while i pain on canvas, make jewelry and crochet ! Good Morning Maia! What a Wonderful Store! I would love to visit a store like that! I used to take my 2 boys to the Los Angeles Children's Museum! Oh , that was so much fun! Oh what fun!! Little Tokyo 🗼!! I love Japan. I have been 3 times. It's my happy place. The land of introverts and calmness. Or so it seems. I would have come out broke from that store. Lol. I'm impressed with your restraint!! And yes, I am amassing a collection of pencils to replace my Deco Aqua, but they are not Prisma. 😔 There is no dupe for Prisma. 😭 I like the fine liner idea, but whenever I use them - it's like nails on a chalkboard. My little hairs stand on end and it's no go. Any thoughts? Besides Valeum? Awesome video my friend. 🙋🤍🖖👽

Im always shocked when i hear some colorists say they dont like them or they are not their favorite !! Im like “”how ????” Haha !! How is that possible ? Oh the fineliners on the chalkboard lol !! Try using them on smoother paper that might help !!! Haha loving your new sketchbook !!!

Here its a bit smaller and the selection is small, but my friend Kami from Colour with Kami , showed that she visited Kinokuniya in Singapore and she got some good stuff much bigger store there with larger selection ! yes, never. The Kinokuniya store in Malaysia is big and it is located in KLCC. There is another bookstore that sells old book published a few years back and the price is way cheaper than new books so lucky for me there is no need to shop online 😀

Years ago I also found a rubber banded bundle of pencils for $7 at a flea market. In it were many Berol, Scholar & Sanford. My question, do you use yours? So far I haven't. I too love fine liners but haven't used them the way you do so thank you for sharing.
