Maiden Flight of the ALZRC X360 heli with H1 Flight Controller and Eachine TX16S

Finally the Maiden Flight of my ALZRC X360 with the H1 flight controller using the Eachine TX16S transmitter.
Just a flight in my garden although it was quite windy and the odd wind direction was causing lots of turbulence.
Even so it handled it very well and is a very impressive machine.
Time to take it to the flying field and let it rip!

Thanks - always a nervous time that first maiden, especially when you put the flight controller in charge but I researched it well for setting and made sure it was well calibrated and it was great - especially considering the conditions. Good luck with yours. Remember it needs more than the usual 5V BEC power for the H1 - I set my ESC to 7.2V BEC as my servos are all happy at that voltage. Linear throttle too. Have fun!

Thanks Mark, for sharing your knowledge. I wanted to ask you what you think of applying a pitch curve for when it is ONLY in 3D mode, I don't want to do 3D flight but I do SPORT, and I would like to have a curve with -5º, 5º and 10º. Apart from this way having 5º in the middle of the STICK, when you go from GPS mode to 3D you will not have that sudden drop.

The H1 controller doesn't work that way. It doesn't have any pitch or throttle curves but does that all internally. What you can change are the various settings for the controller - this is a balance between full GPS mode and 3D mode but if you plan to fly mainly in 3D mode you could bias the setting that way. The X360 came with a KBAR FBL controller so for just 3D mode and sport flying you may just want to use that rather than go for the H1. If you want the GPS features of the H1 then you can see the available settings in my screenshots on the RCGroups thread www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3876997-ALZRC-X360-Parts-Bits-and-Build/page6#post47781945 . You can set rates though to control how lively it is in any particular mode but set them to 100% while arming. Hope that helps, Mark

@@modellermark2 Indeed it is as you say, I would ONLY apply the step curve once configured and only in 3D mode, I do not see the solution of smoothing the RATES from the H1 software, what I need is not to have more than 4-5º negative degrees and have the 5th in the middle of the stick. This I do not see how to do it any other way, and I think it would work without problems.

@@isabido I think you would need to do this just using the rates for the throttle channel (which is a single function with the H1) but as I said you would need to take off with full rates then try using rates on the throttle stick and see how it goes.

Please I'm going to buy this helicopter in a short time and I'd like to know about the receiver and transmitter I'm told that I need a minimum 7-channel transmitter because an Xk 6-channel x6 radio would not be compatible

You could use a 6 channel with a standard flybarless unit fitted but would not get any extra functions. With the H1 fitted you need more channels to use its functions. So 6 can work but is a minimum and you may miss out on some features - you need plenty of switches and mixing too so really need a radio that will do that. Good deals on Ali at the moment s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DE5iJY7 If you can stretch the budget go for the Eachine TX16S linked in my description - it will give you everything you need for every model you ever have!

Hi Mark , could you advise setting I am having issues with the tail movement and it just spins on take off , i am using x360 with h1 & tx16 cheers ian

I suspect if it spins that the tail rotor directions is reversed. Check again in the software that it moves in the right direction, centres nicely and end stops are good. Once done recalibrate the gyro too. The other thing is in the radio setup part to ensure that the radio channels go in the right direction ... check that before doing the tail rotor part. Let me know how you get on.

I am still struggling but now with tail wag side to side , do you have a screen shot of the settings you are using on the set up big ask but tried about 20 times to get this thing flying straight Cheers e

@@ianbryant9423 I hadn't realised i had missed the link to my build thread for the X360 - I have added it now and as soon as I get chance I will connect it up and get some screenshots of all of my H1 settings for you. In the meantime check that your motor speed is set to 85% or more as I believe that can help... but I will update the thread as soon as I can for you.
