well I was inclined to choose another year at MSU, but I'm guessing the pros involved in the decision making might have more experience and insight in these matters.

I am not qualified to answer the question. I think as long as you have the option of teaching him the habbits that you want him to learn, you might as well have him in a place that gives him the best chance to do that. And likewise, not have him develop bad habbits in an easier league. Dock and Korch did not have the option to go to the AHL, so it was a tougher decision. I do not agree that it was a mistake to NOT have Korch back at juniors. Now they do have the option to send him to the AHL this year which may help him. I guess that will depend on how improved he may look at training camp.

Question for the Mailbag. Was curious what your ideal 2024-2025 season would look like. For we it would be a calder cup in Rockford with the young guys developing well and Bedard having a point per game season with the team getting a top 5 pick. Curious on your thoughts though.

Absolutely let him and the other rookies marinate down at the Rock the experience is gonna benefit them in the long run, can’t wait to watch the IceHogs this year.

The AHL will definitely be a step up in competition from the Big 10 and the NCAA. He’ll get the opportunity to round out his game for the next couple of years in Rockford.

Question: Obviously we have quite a few one year contracts, looking to the next free agency, what do you think will go down? Are these guys coming in to buy time for prospects or more so to add ammo during free agency to pick up other free agents next year? Any bold predictions on the top free agents becoming available in 25? Im still trying to learn, getting deeper into hockey

Lardis had to go back to juniors. They couldn’t send him to Rockford due to his age.

I think another season at Michigan State would have been a better choice. Korchinski was rushed to the NHL and it showed in his play. Now they’re rushing a second teenage defenseman into professional hockey. I imagine with Levshunov the financial aspect of this situation was a large part of his decision. He’s from Belarus. His father passed from COVID and I imagine his family’s financial situation isn’t as stable as a lot of other players taken in the draft. As a Hawks fan I hope it works out but it seems they’re making a similar mistake as last season with Korchinski.

Well damn… prolly shoulda given him another year in college… this contract is one Demidov (who they should have picked) would get… giving him the Korchinksi treatment of not allowing him to grow properly. Is Bowman still in charge? Cause this is a bowman type move…

He's not ready. There's alot of bad highlights vs Good. He needs a year minimum in Rocford. Not a fan. Hope I'm wrong.

"Did he and the Blackhawks make the right decision?" H#!! NO! They should of draft a genuine second franchise player.......Demidov. Trading up 2 spots to overdraft Boisvert was nearly as limiting........Eiserman could have been a steal at 18. Rebuild should have been about ceilings and not filling roster needs and floors.
