If you felt the monotony in the sound it's perfect because the song is exactly about that. He's talking about why he's like the way he is as no one in the "structure" seems to support what he is. The people sitting in the sofa up there , denote the society who always seem to tell him what to do and what not to. The straight jacket shows how he feels trapped in norms and rules. The people at the back with suitcase show the people in the rat race.

It means that he is limited by the society. when he gets out Of the jacket and starts singing, the women covers her ears, which means the society doesn’t want to hear complaints. Because he was singing about how confused he is about what to do in life and that he doesn’t want to please the society (should have gone through the lyrics). He was the only person in white bcz he was trying to stand out in the middle of a whole crowd who carried briefcases and wore ties and formals. And in the end he gets back into the straight jacket which suffocates him and he dies. *This is what the song and the video meant*
