​@@king643g see brother...I'm working in Satya Microcapital Ltd which is a Microfinance, but I don't work as a collection officer but as a branch executive and I will be able to tell you the brutality of the MFI industry. Collection officers have three levels in Satya, Apprentice, EDO and Senior EDO. The pay for apprentice is 12,500-15,500 and for EDO it's 23,000-28,000 and for Sr. EDO it's like 31,000-37,000. Salary is quite good, right?..but now hear the work culture and work hours for a complete picture. We know, NOBODY GIVES ANYTHING TO OTHER FOR FREE. Same goes here in Satya Microcapital. Since the compensation is so high, the MFI strips off your personal life and health. Here's a brief overview of the day in the life of a collection officer. 1) Day starts at 6:30am in office. Since day starts so early, the company either expects you to stay in their own dormitory (NO INVERTER POWER, NO AC, AND NO NON VEG IN DORM) or be a local person of the area. Timing is sharp 6:30am, even 1min late is unacceptable. 2) Now till 8am, the branch manager will assign humungous targets like E-SIGN(simply put, giving new loans), OD clearance (overdue of EMI that needs to be recovered from clients) and regular demands (simply means, the collection amount for the day). Mind it, the highest regular demands I've seen is 480. This means, you'll have to visit 480 people to collect kisht/EMI. Now, every MFI has this protocol of groups. Groups are simply a gathering of people in a predetermined place to submit their kisht/EMI. However, it is not usually seen as people usually don't gather in group meeting to pay and hence the collection officer has to go to each home individually which is a really daunting task. 3) By 8am, every officer has left the office for collection purpose. The dormitory is to be locked in the morning and the keys are taken by BM or submitted to branch executive so that no collection officer can go in the dorm and rest. Forcing them to be on the field all day. The branch executive is strictly said not to forward the keys to the dorm to any officer for petty reasons and should accompany the officer to the dorm and shouldn't be left unattended. 4) As a branch executive, I usually leave the branch around 6:30pm, if the work load is low. The branch executive post has low work than collection officers, but there is NO GROWTH and the salary is also less. Furthermore, they are not also entitled to perks like food allowance, fuel allowance which the officers are entitled to. Before, leaving the branch, the executive has to check the mails, print next day ECS and then he/she is allowed to go. There is a condition, if the branch executive stays in the dormitory, his work timings are equal to the officers work hours since the dorm isn't open until all the officers are finished with their work. 5) The collection officers, return the office as early as 8pm and as late as 12am(midnight). Then the Branch manager will enter the collection amounts and other details for the day and have a 30min meeting with the officers and higher management, no matter how late in the night. 6) The officers return the dorm as early as 9:30pm or as late as 1-2am depending on the day's target. And then the next day the cycle continues. The officers sometimes have to work with no leave...NO SUNDAYS too...They hardly sleep 4-5hours a day and their health deteriorates too because of unhealthy eating and lifestyle. The management encourages them to eat outside in hotel to save time for collection which strips off their gut health and mental health. In a nutshell, No matter what MFI you belong to. MFI industry is designed in such a way as I mentioned. You'll have to work 16-17hours a day, even on Sundays. There are very few holidays compared to other sectors. No matter what weather condition is, be it a storming cyclone or a 45 degree hot weather. You'll find yourself working and cursing your life
