I was so god awful exhausted last night I found this spot to crash and did just that!
Usually I'll find east before rolling out and keep hid back from the open because the morning rising sun will beat down on you. Keeping behind the tree canopy shades you but I'd gotten around eight hours of sleep which is twice as long as I usually sleep so I wasn't affected.
I sure feel better this morning!

Whats the general consensus of hobos by railroaders? Personally i would rather have hobos around than gangs etc.
@alaskarailroad3996
@alaskarailroad3996 4 жыл бұрын
@@MrEkg98 generally besides employees, nobody is to be on railroad property. However depending on the railroad, there are some kind hearted people, including engineers that will except hobos on property. Once the hobo is well known, and the company see's them as no harm, they can be accepted. I have never yet reported a hobo when sighted on my railroad property. I have seen baggages on cars already known there was a rider on my train, and said stay safe. The hobo than knew i was saying hi i mean no harm. Sometimes they will say thanks. Most hobos I've experienced are not bad people. Like shoestring most are far more kinder and respectful than most people you call friends on a daily basis. I've learned alot from hobos in the cab of my loco. Someday i would like to visit shoestring in my cab....

I live just outside Portland, Maine and have been watching your videos for a couple years. I was thrilled yesterday when I saw you were in the local area and riding on Pan Am through Rigby yard! “PT” stands for Portland Terminal. And, I can’t believe you were just openly walking around Rigby during broad daylight. They don’t use that control tower anymore, but they don’t take trespassing lightly in that yard. Even rail fans parked in the employee parking lot, not even on the tracks, are usually quickly met by railroad police or town police and summonsed or arrested for criminal trespassing. They don’t play there when it comes to people on Pan Am property.

Hi Shoestring, In my early days of doing Welding, we would use similar pens in different color ink to mark the weld locations. Any Welders Supply would carry similar marking pens in many different colors. Also automotive paint suppliers have touch up pens..... On line sources like "Production tool supply" or machinist supplier will also sell them.... Stay safe out there..🙏😎👍🇺🇸

That pagan tag was done with a Bic white out pen, probably. They stand the weather pretty well. You can find them at a lot of grocery stores, walgreens/cvs, office stores, and generic types at dollar stores. It's a slight learning process to use it well, you have to squeeze it as you move it. Sharpie mean streaks are a good alternative to markals that you can find at Lowes and office supply stores. Just trying to give back some pointers since you always give so many good tips in every video. I wonder if that was a group of poplar trees you were laying by. Ever run into poison ivy at night? I'm allergic as hell to it and have learned to spot it pretty well.

I have seen solo artist signatures for 25 years but have not seen any new ones in the last 5 or 7 years. From the sheer number of them I would have guessed he was a Carman. I think the markers you are looking for are Markal paint sticks which you can get at welding supply stores or hardware stores, the kind I buy for work is oil base paint and quite long lasting and come in white or black mostly but there are a few other colors available, costs about $5.00 apiece.

If you ever find yourself riding the rails thru Fairfax Virginia on the NS line at Burke Station, make a video because if your there I work not far from there sometimes. You have an open invitation for dinner if you do find yourself there, I know a great Italian place, a good Chinese joint, and a great Indian restaurant just 1/2 mile from the station, plus a Walmart and Target less than that distance there. No BS, seriously. Heck, I would even drive you to the CSX main in DC, the NS yard in Manassas, even Baltimore if you needed to.
