Thank you so much! You are hands down one of the best drum instructors I've ever come across, bar none. You have a way of breaking things down to where they make sense and don't seem insurmountable. I'm sure some kid out there watching will become inspired by your videos and become a great drummer, and that will be yet another of your contributions to the music industry, Rob.

Thanks Rob, just getting back into playing after losing my beloved kit in the midst of a messy divorce about 18 years ago. The first thing I noticed is how weak my hands and wrists are ( especially my left). These simple drills are proving invaluable! So please keep them coming and thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and for your no nonsense teaching style! Cheers from Aus🇦🇺

Because of the few weeks I have been paying attention to your channel, I have started working out to two episodes of Law and Order almost daily. I try to stay organized and structured, but I have too much fun to stay with anything for too long. Like you started to just have fun at the end and stopped is how my whole session goes. Though, my hand strength and brain symmetry have improved fourfold since listening to you. Thank you brother. Aloha

Man! I'm practicing some of those exercises with those Tim Fairbanks sticks and a Moongel 7" Workout pad. My hands have improved. At the beginning feels like trying to run under water, but then you move to the drums and you can feel as light as a feather! Best wishes, Rob!

Thanks very much for this. Please consider doing a video about speed on the high hat. I can get my right hand to play just as fast as my left on every other part of the kit except for when I cross my sticks and try to play a quick High hat with one hand. End up with a lot of tension in my right arm and shoulder.

Cheers for the video Rob! Wondering if you could do a video on so called "TV exercises" - some drills and routines you can do on the pad or by tapping your feet subconsionsly, while watching tv, lectures, hell, even foot co-ordination on long drives. Thanks for the awesome content as always!

I had no use for traditional grip until I started playing brushes. For some reason, the left hand seems to execute most brush motions better with traditional grip.

Sometimes the simplest movements are the most effective. Could not agree more. Good tips. I find the exercise with triplets to be the easiest and most natural. They just flow by themselves.

Pretty interesting. My teacher and I had a short discussion about both of these grips. We came to a fast conclusion that traditionnal grip is ''ALMOST'' useless to a certain point of view. How do you hold the sticks while playing timpanies ? How do you hold your sticks to play Marimba, xylophone or even carillons... you get the point... Too many instruments require the matchgrip over traditionnal in our opinions, so why should we focus on traditionnal ? OK, I should admit that in a marching band it is hard as a snare player to use the matchgrip because of the attack angle you have to take from the marching snare... but even the toms-tomer use matchgrips... i believe you get the point. I think, not 100% sure, that every trick a traditionnal handler vs a matchgrip handler are the same, do I make a mistake there ? whatever, I hope you get my opinion and I don't wanna bash on people that use traditionnal, if they feel better that way and they like to play drums I don't mind.

My main problem is that the left hand starts to "choke" on the stick after about an hour. I often don't realize it until I'm in the middle of a recording. The tension is so important! Thank you for these exercises.
