I like it, good stuff. thinking of adding a Quick release ball lock pin to help hold it in the poll when i do mine.

for the problem with keeping the umbrella in place, what if you drill a hole through both the base shaft and umbrella shaft, then stick a "cotterless" pin through it? the pin that has a keyring on one end to pull on, and a little detent ball on the other end to keep it from falling out of the pin hole. could even drill multiple holes to select different heights with the pin
