YOU'RE JOKING ME??? This is like... an astounding level of technique for a week one Samba????? Maisie did NOT come to play. Amazing hip action and character, as well as very advanced footwork and content that really shocked me! She performed a near perfect batucada, as well as two Samba roll combinations, one natural and one shadowed. She DID miss the heal lead on the Corta Jaca, but this is CLEARLY going to be the frontrunning couple this year. No doubt in my mind. 8!

Probably the BEST samba performed by a strictly star EVER, and on WEEK ONE!!!!!!! My goodness, she has everything to win. I personally find the samba to be the hardest dance for the celebs, and so far no one had been able to do it properly. For me, this was the first time a strictly celebrity nailed the samba!! Fab - u - lous!!!

A samba week one is ridiculously cruel from the producers really, I understand not giving her a Cha Cha because she did that on a children in need but 9 times out of 10 it goes awfully week 1 (obviously Kelvin is an exception) but my god that was fantastic. 8’s fully deserved. Her lines, movement and the ability to cope with it is very very good

8 (My favourite dance of the night! Absolutley packed full of energy and rhythm from start to finish and loads of content which she coped with brilliantly!! Not quite smooth and bouncy enough but amazing as a performance for week one)

I remember Maisie participating in Children in Need last year with Kevin and I believe she won that! So I had high expectations for her, and let me tell you HUNNYYYY!!!! She AND Gorka came out the cannon swinging. Nice Cuban breaks, fluent movement throughout the entire dance, the execution was A-MA-ZING!!! Plus, the little trick at the end!! Yes Mam!! If she continues like this, she would definitely be a shoe-in for the final! *8.5!*
