Later on his nephew got the entire country rid of extremely dangerous enemy TTP & other Terrorists'. His name is M. Gen. Raheel Shareef. This family has served the country with their blood and excellence. Hats off .

No doubt. Major shafqat balouch is Hero of all Pakistan. He stopped a brigade with one company only without heavey weapons when Pakistan main defences were not properly built up. But unfortunately very few people know about his heoric action.

I remembered two telefilms one was Captain Rashid Minhas and the second one was About Major Aziz Bhatti. We know that at that time there was just one TV channel (PTV) and I have to wait the whole year to watch these telefilms on 6th September. Thank you for your service, Sir Maj. Aziz Bhatti.

The war of 1965 my grandfather took part he was a subdedar in the legendary regiment the 4th Sikh, he told had it not been a ceasefire from the un which was a stroke of luck we would have went deeper in the lahore and bring both your top leadership. Respect to Major Aziz Bhatti.

Fun Fact: Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed (Nishan e Haidar) was a relative of General Raheel Sharif and General Raheel Sharif's brother is also a Nishan e Haidar recipient Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed who embraced martyrdom in the 1971 war in Sulemanki Sector of West Pakistan. Another brother of General Raheel Sharif, Captain Mumtaz Sharif was martyred in the 1960's.

Interesting how little ordinary pakistanis know about the role of Bengali soldiers in the 1965 war. the 1st Battalion of the EBR(East Bengal Regiment) was deployed in the defence of Lahore along the Bambawali- Ravi-Bedian canal, commonly known as BRB canal. They held their ground despite repeated Indian attacks. At the end of the war, this regiment had the honour of being awarded the highest number of gallantry awards among all the regiments of Pakistan Army. In addition Bengali pilots like saiful azam was awarded sitara e jurat pakistans third highest military award for shooting down The plane of flying officer mayadev who flew folland gnat Interceptors.

Did not hand over power to the majority leader, economically created a monopoly while Poverty ran rampant in East Pakistan. And the list goes on. Even now you can see how ur ISI chief is visiting Afghanistan even after 70000 of ur own people were killed by Taliban. Your economy was destroyed by bombings and terrorism. Lets be very clear here bengalis now dont consider India or Pakistan as their friend. Only mutual trade partners thats all. Tell your leaders to apologise unconditionally for the genocide in 1971 and then there can be a dialog with true honesty and mutual respect.

I heard the Soldiers Junior Officers and Officers i.e upto Captain Level. Who really fought on the during 17 days War , at Lahore Frontline. Their Names never cameup , Major Aziz Bhatti was not at front line. But he was killed and He is Shaheed , perhaps Nishan e Haider was the right of Those Juniors who was on the frontline. Like Captain Ameer Khan etc.

Why did his country attack first? More than 20,000 Pakistani troops crossed the Line of Control in Kashmir on 5 August, 1965. India did it in retaliation on 15 August. His own country was at fault for his death.

It's sad that Pakistan and India have had wars in the first place, everyone lived in harmony with each other until India got divided & conquered, that dividing & conquering came with a plan, it began with people of the wrong religion being displaced in the wrong part of a divided India, the British achieved their goal, that the people of what was India will always hate each other, I wish more people would reflect and stop hating each other and despise the wrong doers who created the horrific partition.
