Also, we got home last night from vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida. We were in the water with our kids and grandkids one afternoon and someone spotted a shark. We saw it and I’ve never seen people run out of the water as fast as I did then. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

TS Alberto created similar conditions a couple of weeks ago.. This is kinda normal for that area bro.

In the 1870s the port at Indianola was busier than Galveston. One hurricane came in, devastated the town and partially filled in the bay. A few years later, before Indianola could recover a second hurricane finished the port off. Erosion is relative. The coast will change, it's natural.s Thanks for the real life update. I look forward to the Galveston footage. Just be careful though, there are no public facilities south of the town, down by Jamaica Beach so don't get stranded! Be safe. Matagorda Bay is expected to get several feet. Lake Jackson, Oyster Creek and Clute all tend to flood. If you are on the roads there remember, if you can't see to the bottom of the puddle, don't drive into it!

I have great memories going to Padre Island back in the 70’s with friends from college during spring break. I went to K-State and have many wonderful memories. I was on the drill team there and a little sister in my brothers fraternity.🙌🙌👏🎉 l loved to dance and we would be at the bars almost every night dancing the night away🥳 I didn’t drink and believe me I did not need too😀😀😀 I would not want to go to Padre Island for spring break if I went to college these days🤷🏼‍♀️🫣 Hope you are having fun getting around to so many places but please JLR and Magnolia… STAY SAFE 🙏🏼!!!!

Havent they had quite a few shark attacks lately also, and I know when we were on the Gulf Coast the ocean was rough and that was last week . Tha ks for the coverage JLR and Magnolia

I live here on North Padre about a mile from where you are...our high tides do this regularly...getting a lil higher every year. The strange structure you see down south on the beach is Bob Hall Pier(what is left of it) High tides get up to the dunes every severe high tide(& storm surge)The ppl you're asking may not have lived here since 1997, like I have. It's not anything residents get freaked out by...btw, this is North Padre Island not South Padre Island, in case ppl are confused. Most ppl that hang on the beach regularly, that would know the actual conditions aren't driving golf carts. We use our vehicles to check the beaches when there's a storm, not a beach cart. Mostly new residents(and tourists)drive golf carts. Those of us that have lived out here are annoyed by the influx of so many golf carts without proper roads for them to drive on. And they go to the beach with chairs during storms. Not smart in an old lifeguard's opinion. We don't want to have to rescue anyone,because of lack of info. Please use caution when checking the storm activity. It's exciting yes, but very dangerous if you aren't familiar with coastal conditions. Be safe everyone. God be with us all. 🙏🏼
