Not to mention it was built mostly in driveways, under carports and a 85+ year old building Lol.

Step 1 is making it work. No need to worry about how it looks. I’d paint that hood and send it. Grind the welds on the cage that suck and go back over it. It might not even be fast enough to need it.

​@mandagrath that doesn't change how terrible the welds are. That's how a driver gets hurt or worse if it crashes. There are welders and then there are people that can use a welder to make 2 pieces of metal stick together, and they're not the same.

Mr Bill worries about the appearance because he doesn't actually race his cars his cars are street cars that can perform at the drag strip. They are building a car specifically for the drag strip and unfortunately are worried about the cosmetic s*** and then have Jeff over there trying to meticulously remove parts to make $5 at the swap meet over the next 5 years. There seems to be no urgency and they've probably spent half their budget or at least 5 to 8K on three vehicles two of which are useless in this situation and who's looking to buy those vehicles to recoup their money in this time frame? They still have some pretty expensive components to buy and install/fabricate and plum and they are working with Jeff who took years to swap in a factory motor a carburetor a radiator and a fuel tank with a basic two-wire fuel pump with a MSD box In other words very minimal s*** and also Jeff ain't been faster than maybe mid fives and the 8th and is tasked with building a fast truck. When the builder of probably one of the fastest as close to factory s10s Mr Bill and then the guy that continued it Billy Jr or a phone call away and all their expertise and knowledge is being ignored. Pack that s*** up bring it to the hoskins new building and rock and roll. I mean Tommy and Allison have zero experience building cars. So without Jeff they're kind of s*** Creek and with only Jeff they're still up s*** Creek. And not only that they haven't uploaded one single productive video about this project when I would be grinding out daily uploads if I could showing the progress on this build considering the possibilities that this invitation could lead them to especially if they go out there that night and actually put down a decent time. At the rate they're at they're going to have a car slower than what that Dakota could run the year it came out

@@Forcefed2002 Original 318 stroked to a 390. Ported iron Hughesd heads and 11:1 CR built for nitrous. All forged. Never ended up spraying it. Ran a best aof 11.1 @121 on motor and then the 727 blew to pieces because I put a transbrake in it and did not have a bolt in sprag. Long story. Engine made 455whp/488wtq on VP 110.

Jeff needs to quit pulling s*** apart so carefully so that he can go sell it at the swap meet these two kids were given a great opportunity and Jeff who took years to build the very basic dart is the one tasked with building this thing when Tommy's dad and brother have probably one of the most consistent trucks in the racing scene and have actually built cars from the ground up and have experience with EFI turbos etc aren't being used and then they spent however much money of their budget on two vehicles that are useless and it's not like people are knocking down their doors to buy that old tan Dakota and the other Dakota back to recoup their finances in a timely manner to be used again in this build I want to see them succeed but man they don't seem to want to see themselves succeed

What you mean coming along? This is the third vehicle they've tried in three vehicles and have gotten nowhere since the day they picked up the motor and trans and a single thing coming along except for the due date

It's a well crafted if not out dated race car. I'm glad they saved it. Big block would be nice for brackets.

Same here,, I had a 2000 Club Cab and LOVED IT even though it was a 6 and NOT an R/T. I always told my kids the body of the 2nd gen Dakota is absolute sweet styling genius. The side, the front, the rear views are styling sweetness!

They did get some things done/undone on the Duster for the future. Brakes are coming and it needed to be rewired.
