We had an awesome first 3 days on our PCH road trip, but unfortunately it came to an abrupt end. This seems to be a trend in 2020...plans getting turned upside down. BUT first, we got to explore Long Beach :)

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! After achieving our new goal of 100 countries before 2020 and all 7 continents, we have no plans to slow down anytime soon, and we are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)

Everyone PLEASE be careful because people are going crazy from being locked down at home! I was just talking about this with the microwave and the toaster while drinking my coffee, and we all agreed that things are getting bad. I didn’t mention any of this to the washing machine, because she puts a different spin on EVERYTHING!! Certainly couldn’t share with the fridge, cause he’s been acting cold and distant! In the end, the iron straightened me out! She said the situation isn’t all that pressing and all the wrinkles will soon get ironed out! The vacuum, however, was very unsympathetic…told me to just suck it up! But the fan was VERY optimistic and gave me hope that it will all blow over soon! The toilet looked a bit flushed but didn’t say anything when I asked its opinion, but the front door said I was becoming unhinged and the doorknob told me to get a grip!! You can just about guess what the curtains told me: they told me to “pull myself together!”

I live in Northern California. Thank you for respecting the travel advisory. It is beautiful here and we have been restricted for a long time. I live in a rural county and unfortunately everyone has been coming here during the pandemic which has put our county in a "purple tier" meaning shut down of almost everything. Our small businesses have just re-opened only to be shut down again. The beauty of California will be waiting for you when this whole mess is over. Go home, stay safe. Kara's morning ritual of laying snugly under the warmth of the bed sheets and slowly reaching out with her half asleep hand for the mug of hot coffee Nate offers every morning, is the essence of what love really is! The becoming smile that appears on her face as the aroma reaches her nose is just icing on the cake! Cherish these moments together for there are far too few in life!

Every video when I see Nate bring Kara her coffee it reminds me of those things my parents do for each other and they've been married for 42 years 🎉! Oh, you guys... it IS Ok to be disappointed. When this whole thing started, I was in the beginning stages of planning my life long dream trip to Italy - Lake Como & Amalfi in the fall of 2020 for my birthday. This was January/February. Then, COVID hit and everything was upended. I have a somewhat essential job and have been working non-stop since the closures started. I'm grateful for my health, I'm grateful to have a job... but still sad that my dream trip has been postponed indefinitely. The takeaway... 2020 has royally sucked, and you can be simultaneously grateful and disappointed. They are not mutually exclusive. Love to you both! ❤️❤️❤️

Quote of the Day “It’s ok if you fall apart sometimes, Tacos fall apart and we still love them.” Seriously though, if you are struggling with depression, mental health, suicidal thoughts, or being bullied, just know me and many others are here to talk. You are worth everything, and anything. Nothing can replace the soul of a human, whether it be a million dollars, I’d rather have you here on this planet with me. You are going to succeed one day, no doubt in my mind, things will get better. Hope it was a pleasure reading this, it was certainly one for me writing this, and please have an incredible day. #bullyingprevention #stopsuicide If you have suicidal thoughts, reach out to someone, weather it’s family, friends, or even I’d be happy to talk. Just wanted to give you a different perspective, from a (much) older person. My husband and I have been in lockdown here in Los Angeles since March! And when I say lockdown, I mean pretty much 100% of the time in our house. This virus is spiking everywhere. Our doctors and nurses are completely overwhelmed. We're all in this together, and by all of us taking the virus seriously and doing our bit, we'll all be able to resume normal lives sooner. And what I wouldn't give, just to be able to sip a cappuccino in a local coffeehouse! You both have a great attitude, and I know you appreciate what the whole country is experiencing right now. This is a perfect time to be thankful for the good things in our own lives, and to do our best to protect each other.

Let me ask you this. People die each year in car accidents, do we ban cars all together or put in preventative measures in place to reduce relative to risk ?
@jackienaiditch7965
@jackienaiditch7965 3 жыл бұрын
@@dbrammall66 I'm not sure what you're saying here. Travel restrictions, like the ones Kara and Nate are observing, are some of the common-sense preventive measures being enacted to reduce risk of virus spread. My husband and I are in lockdown because we are at very high risk, being older, and also because I have a chronic illness. There are all kinds of rules and regulations for people who drive cars to reduce risk for everyone. We must wear seat belts. We must stop at red lights. No, we don't ban cars, but we do everything possible to mitigate risk. Similarly, with COVID-19, public health officials ask everyone to do all they can for the greater good.

@@dbrammall66 unlike auto accidents though, we can save these people *and* return to normal in due time. Your logic is bad and can be applied to anything. For example, why do we still honor 9/11 victims? People die from terrorist attacks and shootings every day and we don’t honor them. All you’re demonstrating is that a single death is a tragedy and a large sum is a only a statistic to you. Scientists can prevent 2,000+ deaths a day, so let’s let them. Additionally, these are minor travel restrictions for non-essential things. You’re just demonstrating what a selfish person you are, and how science-illiterate you are.

@@jackienaiditch7965 I don’t know about the whole situation tbh what’s the truth and what’s not. I’ve seen people very close to me commit suicide and die from cancer as they were to scared of wasting the doctors time and it went undetected. For such a small number of people that actually die from this I honestly believe that the cure is worse than the disease itself. I’m sorry but that’s my option on it it doesn’t make me a bad person like you are trying to make me out to be. Not everyone thinks the same as you and to call someone selfish and a bad person because they have a different view speaks volumes. Do you enjoy calling people names on the internet or are you just a lonely person ?
