We did 2 -2-3 custody when my daughter was a baby. It was ideal because we were only separated for 3 nights at most and then it’s fair 50/50 and the weekends rotate. Im so sorry to hear this love 💔 Just remember that you are blessed to have Bex, a BIG supportive family, you also have crazy pieces, your bio family and your youtube family. You truly are blessed in this situation. Bex can always enjoy you guys separately and that will be her normal going forward as she is still small, although it maybe tough for her at first. You know how some ppl need a break from having a kid and need space, alone time, wish they could be single again cos parenting can be overwhelming at times; well treat half of your week like that, and go out there and do as you please. You are blessed to be given that freedom again so make full use of it. Also remember that when you have Bex, Eli feels the same way as you do, he would be missing Bex too, so it’s ok to feel the way you do. Bex is blessed to be loved by two wonderful parents who want the best for her. Not every child gets that privilege. Furthermore, it is advisable to get a custody agreement written on paper and legalized. Circumstances may change in the future, and it would protect all three of your interests equally. Supposing you meet someone along the way that wants to move states, or Eli does, it’s better to have a legal backing. Think forward as well, and since you have Bex and are on your own, try and secure yourself a house so that you don’t have to be dependent on rent. God forbid something happens to you, and you can’t work, Bex will need a permanent home to stay at. It will obviously take sometime to get that kind of money, but work towards it as soon as possible while you can (sorry, i think a lot and of all possible scenarios 😬). Keep focusing on yourself and get distracted, it will help you a lot. Also, since you are in a vulnerable situation right now, you may invite ex friends into your life, or they will come to you, but just remember why you let them go in the first place, cos if they made a mistake once, they’d do it again cos that’s their personality. Stay happy and your beautiful bubbly self that we all love, lovely. 😘

I'm so sorry youre going through this! Its heartbreaking to split up what you thought was going to be your family, but it can be better and healthier all around. My sons dad and I split up right after he turned 1, and it was super hard at first. My ex had some issues he had to work through but there was no hate between us. We also didnt go through the court system, we worked out our own visitation schedule, mostly based on his work schedule since it wasn't flexible like mine, so our son would spend every Monday and Tuesday with him, and the rest of the time with me since we lived an hour away from each other, but now that hes in school, and my ex lives in the better school district and his new wife is amazing (and one of my best friends, shes the greatest thing that happened to our family tbh) so my son lives with them during the week and with me on weekends, which was a hard transition but its been working out for us all. Its all in the mindset of doing whats best for our son, and he doesnt even remember us ever being together so there hasnt been a lot of questions about that either, at least not yet. I have a really good feeling that both of you have enough love left for each other and obviously an overwhelming amount for your daughter that this transition, although it might be hard, will still turn out for the best for you all even if it is different than the original plan. Hi Lacey. I was a single momma for a bit. Me and the father to my child had my child one week and I’d get her the next week. It’s hard for sure but you got this! Stay strong momma❤❤

My situation is slightly different because me and my daughter's dad broke up before I found out I was pregnant, but we've always made it work and never gone through the courts. He sees her every couple of weeks, just due to distance and work, but that's what works for us. He also has her at his when he has a week booked off work so she can spend time with that side of the family. Him and his family just took her away on holiday as well. Honestly you might find it tough being away from Bex now, I did at first. But honestly you become so grateful for the break. When my daughters dad took her on holiday recently I got so much done. Housework, taking rubbish to the tip, clearing stuff out to the charity shop. Take time for self care and you time while she's with Eli. You're both handling this so well, and so similarly to how me and my ex handled co-parenting. It's worked so well for us and it's been good for our daughter because we've never had fights or arguments, we just all get along. We even used to take her on holiday together. Anyway I've waffled on long enough now 🤣

Lacey as a single Momma myself my best advice is to feel the feels and to be honest about your heartbreak if and when Bex ask questions in her teenage years (who knows what will happen between now and then)! Also I admire you for not wanting to put negativity out there about the harder parts of a relationship. I tried my hardest never to say any unkind words about my ex because like you said I did choose to have children with him so obviously there was some kind of great things between us even when it didn't work out with us in the same house. Co-parenting is possible even though it's rough. Melinda was a good place for you to land because most of her house will probably be kind proof and to be honest she's had her own heart brake as well so she can sit with you when you need someone to! There is no doubt in my mind that Eli is a good Dad and that he loves his little girl so I hope that brings you comfort!

As a child of divorce, it’s all going to be okay. My parents also are still on good terms and the divorce doesn’t affect me. They got divorced when I was 10/11. Obviously Bexley is still very young so it’s different for her but just know you shouldn’t have to worry about her! I go to my dads on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning. I go to my moms on Wednesday midday (after school), Tuesday and Friday morning. Friday midday till Monday morning are one week at my dads and the next at my moms. All the love and support ❤

My custody agreement is as follows: I have my child all week. Tues nights he goes to his father in the afternoon and he stays overnight and his father takes him to school the next morn and i get him from there. We also do alternating weekends where he picks him up on Fri from school and he comes back on Sunday 4pm. Since shes a baby, she wont mind the 50/50 agreement as much now but think ahead please especially while youre in a good civil place. That can change overnight trust me. Will it be fair to Bexley to have to say goodbye to 2 parents and move around every week? She needs stability, a stable schedule and a stable place to call home. Its ok if the other home is her home as well and she visits it but shell need 1 primary home and she really needs her mama most. You can make the agreement so that even though you have most of the physical custody, Eli can still come and see her whenever he wants, That would be really healthy for her. But the kid will need a primary stable home to come home to every day. I divorced when my baby was 15 months old and hes 5 now. Im your future lol. Good luck mama you got this!!!
