It will depend on whether Bertuzzi signs at the highest available or he takes a bit of a hit and plays where he prefers to play. I think the $5.25x4 is his market value but that doesn’t mean that is where Toronto is. I do think the numbers on Domi are accurate. Somewhere in that $3.5-4.0mil but I think 2 years is light. I think the Leafs should want him under contract for four years, same with anyone they sign for the middle six roles.

Both guys are very Berube types of players, would be a good idea to bring them both back. Especially Domi so he can be stapled to 34's wing and continue feeding him insane scoring opportunities

NOBODY can guarantee that THE TURTLE will be playing 2nd line Center come next season with Berube in charge of the Lineups ... THE TURTLE could be 3rd line Center going with that sooner

I like bertuzzi alot but didn't really perform this past season ... I think debrusk would be a upgrade on bertuzzi if jake is 6 mill x 6 id rather do that then bertuzzi at 5.25-5.5 just my opinion in a perfect world id loveeeee to have them both bertuzzi and debrusk maybe even domi too that would be amazing But wishful thinking 😂

Its always interesting how elite players define their own value. Normally against the other elite players or teams mates. Leafs have a puzzle to solve. Lwts c how they do it.

We should know 20 games in the season who Berube is going to want and what he will need. I'd hope he could get a good idea what he needs by the end of training camp but it may take a bit longer.

I think Bertuzzi will want more years if he's signing for 5.5 I thought he'd want 6 or 7 at minimum Domi 2 x 3.5 is kind of insulting. 4x4 at minimum.

I like Bertuzzi but he's a little too small, we need a Bertuzzi-like character but in a larger body with better scoring ability for those higher projections

I can't understand the NHL at all how is Domi who outperforms BERT or DEbrusk getting max 4m yet guys who have less points and can NOT play center are worth so much more? Domi get's more like 4-4.5Mx4. He took less for this past season but don't see him doing it again. Saravalli has no insight, he is making contracts similar to what they made this past season. I hope the leafs are able to have JT on LW.

there's no real analysis, just fake. Leafs center 2 = slow poke, 3 = Holmberg, = we need a 2nd line center, C Stephenson, along with a top 4 right shot D man, Pesce, and 'reliable' goalie, Talbot. The rest is just hot air. With remaining cap space you could either sign Domi or ZADAROV. So only reason to sign Domi is to replace Marner. So the big trade becomes Marner & Zadarov for Domi and Saros. I can hear you say: 'do I look crazy?'. You can still trade Marner, but no Domi = Jarnkrok to Matty's right. and Just Saros, no Zadarov, no Domi, (no Marner). So get Domi (and Lyubushkin), and forget about Saros or Zadarov. Marner for either Provorov & 6'2 Jenner or for 6'2 Petterson. = Provorov - Pesce or Petterson - Nylander

Have to get rid of the core, hockey has changed to a balanced hockey team than high paid stars making up over 50% of payroll cannot win.
