MAJOR TRUCK FIRE - Firefighters & Engines responding to and fighting lorry fire!

At 13:46 on the 14th July 2020, Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service received multiple calls stating that an articulated lorry was on fire on the M5 South of Worcester. Firefighters responded, with Fire Engines responding from Worcester, Pershore, Evesham and Ross on Wye, well as crews from over the border in Gloucestershire. The incident caused over 5 miles of traffic, and the Ambulance Service also attended, as Well as West Mercia Police, who sent police cars responding to protect the scene.
Also in attendance in the BRAND NEW 2020 Scania P320 Fire Engine based at Ross on Wye Station in Herefordshire!
Thankfully nobody was injured in this fire.

Category One Trauma call for Ambo too. Until we're told otherwise by Brigade or Police, we treat it as if the driver is still trapped inside that burning cab.

Nice scene footage! I liked seeing the Firefighters in BA at work with the lines and spreaders/cutters. Pretty cool to see Ross's new CAFS Pump! I guess Upton's wasn't available, as their station is much nearer and often goes for incidents on the M5 in south Worcestershire.

Thanks. Their not though, the jaws of life are used to cut through the metal whilst the spreaders are used beforehand to part it.

Actually, you're both right: "Jaws of Life" is a family of tools, by the Hurst company: "The term "Jaws of Life" refers to several types of piston-rod hydraulic tools known as cutters, spreaders and rams, which are used to pry open vehicles involved in accidents when a victim may be trapped. During emergencies, when a few wasted seconds can cost lives, the Jaws of Life are brought in to remove victims from the crashed vehicle." Treat "Jaws of Life" by Hurst the same as "Bobcat" is for the brand of skid steer equipment, or even "Rollerblades" as inline skates. There are many manufacturers of spreaders/cutters/rams but they cannot be called "Jaws of Life" because it's trademarked by Hurst.
