@@aliciamcdonald7105 What I wish in her is that she quit racing her opponents & start racing the clock. Almost every race she win, she's celebrating the last 5-10 meters. Those celebrations are hurting her time. The better her time is, the more she will be motivated to be faster & possibly the record.

@@NelsonJ1 It really doesn't take long to get race ready when they transition out of heavy training. The main reason for the slow times is the body is tired from a lot of gym work, which in theory should only take a few days to recover from, up to a week maximum. Race sharpness could take a little longer depending on the athlete, but someone with Elaine's experience shouldn't take too many races, she could even do it during the Jamaican trials, although I suspect she'll want to be ready before that.

@@Neofolis This is where she was for the trials last year for the World Championships and as you may recall, she didn't make the team even with 4 spots available since Shelly didn't have to compete as the returning champion. This is the same track that Elaine ran her fastest race on, so her 11.3 should be very concerning especially since she said she is injury free. She needs to run 10.7 to be competitive at Olympics, if she makes it, but she hasn't run that fast consistently in a while.

@@NelsonJ1 As you mention, she is injury free. Last year she was still recovering from injury, which is why she didn't make the team. Towards the end of the season, when she had had sufficient time to recover she was running very well. Recovering from some heavy gym work takes a lot less time than recovering from injury. It's not like like Elaine is the only sprinter still running slow times and some of them have run three or four races. Do you not think there may be a reason why so many of them are running slower than usual times? It's highly unlikely that Sydney Mclaughlin, however amazing she is, would be beating Gabby Thomas and Abby Steiner in a 200m race, if they were race ready. They are only staying in heavy training longer this year, because it's Olympic year and they want to eek out every possible advantage, because that's what most of the competition are doing. To be honest an extra month in the gym is not going to make a huge difference, but when the difference between gold and silver could be measured in thounsandths of a second any difference seems worthwhile. To make matters worse, they have to temper their gym work to try to avoid injury, so they generally won't get as much benefit from it as they have the potential to get.

@@vamoneygroup It's TOO many if you want to be correct. but no theres too many behind the scenes issues with ETH. You can look at history of great runnrs who were number 1 then changed coaches and became a dud. In contrast SR did the opposite, changed coaches and went from a what could be to World Champion. Its not rocket science, either your coach brings out your best or you keep looking but ETH may have missed her shot at a return to form she looks as if shes just running for sponsors..
