The card issue is part of the "Gray Market" retail world. It happens all the time especially with brand name items. Think wholesalers that sell Levi Jeans. They dont buy from the manufacturer they buy a container from some person that bought them from somewhere.

Broski is right. It’s illegal to use a persons likeness for commercial purposes. Even if you have a drawing or painting commissioned for the card. The fact they have been doing it for years just means that nobody has sued them (or they have settled with anyone who made an issue of it after the fact). It doesn’t prove any of it is legal. From a business perspective, if they found that people don’t notice/care/sue when this happens, they can keep doing it. As long as they make more money from the cards that lawsuits/settlements cost them, it’s a viable business strategy. It’s scummy, and unethical, but it’s not something where the anyone will come and shut them down to actually stop it from happening. You’ll notice the card doesn’t say “The Rock” because Leaf knows WWE would sue in a second.

They're probably only worth 6 box at the most, so it's not that big of a deal, so he's not looking into it. Now there's something major like maybe tops. Sky box or other cards like that then.
