«MAKARIY»
Erected in 1732 and now lying in ruins, the Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God is the place where participants of Sacred Procession head to. There they are met by Matushka Fomaida, the only resident of the village. She also keeps a memory of the venerable Saint Macarius of Kalyazin, the founder of the Holy Trinity church in Kalyazin where Macarius’ parents were buried. The Sacred Procession sets off on a journey to a newly-built church of Kalyazin: they make a long way to transfer the remains of St. Macarius to the saint’s homeland. Eventually, in St. Macarius’ hometown, people appreciate this historical event, among them - a little boy Makariy named after a venerable saint...
