Thanks for watching. Um... The last scene tested with a kitchen knife is a natural phenomenon due to the difference in hardness. It has nothing to do with the performance of the knife. It is just a stimulating presentation.

Hello friend, a question: how do you do the lime cutter effect?, the heat treatment or in the tempering or for the same bearing steel, thanks for sharing your knowledge, very grateful, greetings from Argentina and congratulations.
@forginghard4 жыл бұрын
I didn't understand the question Quenching is cooled with canola oil at 800 ℃ (1,472 ℉). Tempering was done for 2 hours at 220 ℃ (428 ℉)

Looks like it was dipped in ferric chloride. It brings out the look of the steel. If that’s what your asking

hello! nice to see your work. I like the shape of that knife. I suggest that with high carbon steel like that, get a cross peen hammer and use the cross peen to draw the edge down thinner. It is faster and you will get more change with less effort in the steel. Also, I would bevel the front of the handle scales and polish them before you put them on the knife. That will look really good, and it is not possible to do after they are on the knife (not easy to do, anyway). I am just trying to help. I have been making knives and swords for about 12 years. Good work!
