Oh, you clever woman!!! Does anyone else feel like they are in a private class with Jenny and you are the only one she is tutoring? I love her personality!!

Did some maths this morning; If you quadruple the 5" squares (288) and sew them 12 squares by 24 squares and then cut and construct the same way (except you start the diagonal cuts on the twelfth block in the line of the 24), you get a 75 inch square of quilt (without borders). If you start with 10" squares and use the allotted 72 squares (as for the charms) and use the same 6 square by 12 square rectangle layout, the quilt is 76.5 inches square (without borders). And then If you start with 12" squares (72) and use the same layout as the 5" charms, the quilt is 96.75 inches square (without borders). Woo!

Every time, EVERY SINGLE TIME I think, this is the best quilt ever!! And THEN you make another BEST QUILT EVER!! Thank you, Jenny, love this!

I tried this with 3 inch scrappy squares! 12 across, 24 down, worked like a charm! Thanks Jenny!

As soon as I saw this I knew I wanted to make one for my oldest niece who is the first grandkid to get married, but I was despairing because funds are low, but then my friend called and said she had received some fabric and wanted me to come look thru it and take what I wanted! I found tons of super cute black, white, and red fabric for the front, as well as black and white flannel gingham for the back. Also, when my Craftsy order came, they threw in a spool of BLACK thread and I was like when am I ever going to use this?! But, aha, I’ll use it on the picnic blanket!! The quilting gods were watching over me and I can’t wait to get started on it!!

I love the squares that are sewn like that, and this makes it so easy. Definitely going to make one of these! I love your tutorial Jenny. You make everything actually doable.

I just came across this video ofJenny’s and all I can say right now is..brilliant! This lady and her wonderful informative videos along with “pre-cut fabric” caused me to seriously get into quilting 7 years ago and I haven’t regretted one minute 🥰🥰

Hi Jenny, I made this quilt a couple of weeks ago but I did 6 inch squares 16 by 8 down I made 9 pattern and 7 all plain & different colours make 8 piles 1st pile 2 pattern to start 1 plain 1 patterned 1 plain 1 pattern till 16. Next pile. Whatever the last sqr was on the last pile either plain or patterned that goes down 1st then alternate to the end. Next row last in previous row goes down 1st then alternate till the end . When the piles are done keep them in order sew into strips, then sew strips together in same order. 16 wide 8 down. Now the magic! Cut the corners sew them together then the 2 triangles together all the plain ones in line all the pattern ones in line. What a surprise and so beautiful would love to send pic but can't hope you try it. love your blogs stay well all of you. D.

Just used this technique to use up a charm pack I supply swapped. It turned out fantastic. Easy beginner quilt with low fuss and not a lot of mess up on!

I made one for my son and his girlfriend today. It went together so fast and might be one of the cutest quilts I have ever made! Thank you, I will be making more of these!

I am going to make a comment here because i cannot tell you how much this "charms on point" has done for me.... It's allowed me a way to help use up the lifetime of stash! I'm a retired gal thinking of just how fast i have to sew to use up what i've got... I developed a method of cutting up a lot of it in "squares" and keeping them in boxes by color. It's easy to decide what colorway i want to do and pull from them. As long as you have double the rows of the number across you are Golden! I encourage people to give this a shot... I'm making a big dent so that my poor kids don't have to stress over what to do with it all when i'm not here...LOL

❤ Jenny, I've been thinking about your "Charm Square on Point" quilt. Wouldn't it be a clever way to make a Boston Commons quilt? I want to make a Boston Commons, and all the methods shown on the tutorials make me a little overwhelmed. If anyone could think of a simple way to do this, it's you. You are the BEST! ❤

I replace each of the squares on the diaganols..the ones that will be bisected from center to far edges.. with. A solid border color. When the triangles are put back together.. it looks like i had done all those "setting " triangles and I have my first border. Easy peasy. Last quilt I used the exploding squares pattern and added the solid " border triangles and it looked like a really intricate quilt. Great fun. Makes a fun I Spy.

Why did I not watch this video before I made a quilt like this?!?! I should know by now to check out MSQC videos BEFORE I attempt to make any type of quilt. You`re the best Jenny!!

This method makes on-point so easy. I want to make a larger one. I figured it 12 wide x 24 down but if I've done the math correctly it would end up being 8' square. I guess I could make the outer board smaller, or I could follow Jenny's instructions and add a couple of more borders. :-)
