Styrofoam lets a lot of light through and does a better job of diffusing the light.

What is the point of doing "DIY" if a main section is a bought diffuser dome? Jeez, cut out a section of a used/cleaned milk carton, be more creative!

Isn't it obvious? 1) I'm Canadian. We buy our milk in bags eh. 2)Milk cartons are square opaque cadboard boxes coated in wax that reflect light down but do not allow much light to travel through. 3) if you meant milk jug..they are translucent but do not reflect enough light back down into the chow mein container.
